27-Apr-2012
Worked great for a year or so then the elastic gave up. DD had some massive explosions but they all were contained. I would recommend but have knocked the score down on value-for-money.

Really really dont like these. I can't believe they are really the top rated on here?!
Found they went crunchy with washing, take an AGE to dry, and the velcro is just awful.
I used to like them for nightimes but then found the Tots Bots which are much better0 more absorbent, and stay soft.
These are a rubbish nappy.Read moreLessMumsnetter mummynutter

18-Aug-2010
relative newbie to resuables but have tried several brands already. the bambinex is my fave. Need to combine with a good wrap, but they are really absorbant, slim fitting for a reusable and easy to adjust. Fits my DD and we haven't had any leaks so far. Would definitely recommend as they are v easy to use - come up v .clean and soft after washing. only down side is they take a while to dry.

"I got those nappies after receiving advice from the Nappylady.…"
25-Jul-2010
I got those nappies after receiving advice from the Nappylady. Prior to purchase I went to their workshop and check them in every detail. This nappy was really slim and very soft and cuddly. DD is a bit taller than average and this gave really a good fit. I love these because it's so reliable. We used disposable nappies together with Bambinex Bamboo. With disposable nappies there were leaks (pampers baby dry) and rashes. But with Bambinex there were no leaks at all even after 16 hours of wear!!! And her bottom was so clean (no rashes or redness) and her skin was really soft always. Probobly because of the Bamboo material. My husband said that this velcro fastening was easier than using disposable ones. Really pleased with Bambinex Bamboo and would recommend to all! However shame that I can't use this anymore because we are moving to serviced apartment where there is no washing machine. If anyone is interested on those nappies please let me know as I have 20 of them.

"I have used several other washable nappies but these are…"
11-Mar-2009
I have used several other washable nappies but these are one of my faves. gorgeously soft and I love the fact that bamboo has natural antibacterial properties. I have never had a leak outside the wrap with these nappies. I'm not a fan of poppers - not with my wriggly babies! so I have the velcro version, really easy to do up like any disposable - easier in fact because you're not fiddling with tapes! The velcro does start to warp slightly if you tumble dry too much (but this is over a year of constant use). Very similar in shape and performance to the Little Lambs, but lighter weight, and less bulky. Bought from the extremely helpful site Makesachange.

"I bought a couple of these nappies having been so…"
08-Feb-2008
I bought a couple of these nappies having been so impressed with bamboo in a Tots Bots bamboo nappy. I was having problems with the Tots Bots being a bit low cut on the back, giving my son a builders bum look. They really are a good nappy, they have a few centimetres more fabric in the length which means they can be made to fit, avoiding the builders bum look, not to mention leaks up the back! They also have extra long arms which to be honest are a bit too long on a slim baby, but perhaps they will come into their own as he gets fatter. The fabric is lovely and soft and despite washing in a very hard water area and drying over the radiator all winter they have stayed soft. The separate booster is a good idea as it isn't needed on a small baby and actually I used this booster with other less absorbant nappies as it is pure bamboo. These nappies are also pretty slim fitting which is handy with baby clothes being designed for disposable nappies only now. I think the only drawback of these nappies is that they sit very wet against the skin. This is the case for all totally bamboo nappies and on balance the good fit and birth to potty nature of these make them win over Tots Bots bamboo nappies for me.

"positives - A lovely slimline nappy and very soft bamboo…"
11-Jan-2008
positives
- A lovely slimline nappy and very soft bamboo material
- velcro fastenings work well and can overlap at the front for a snug fit if need be
- long waist to crotch length good for my toddler
negatives
- takes AGEs to dry. honestly, 3 days on the rack (less outside). it would only be a really viable option for a day to day nappy if you had a tumble dryer. And I'm not sure if I agree with that for cloth nappies.
- leaks start from 2-3 hours in, so not an option when you are out and about, or for overnight.Read moreLess6 people found this review helpful.

"I bought these after a day of trailing round the…"
23-Nov-2007
I bought these after a day of trailing round the Earls Court Baby Show, I was exhausted by the end as there were so many different real nappy vendors. I chose Bambinex because...
They were good value for money,
Bamboo is softer, more absorbent than cotton
Bamboo is antibacterial
I am so happy with the choice because...
The shape of the nappy comes up quite high at the back to avoid the horrible poo-up-back situation that I had with the last set of nappies I was using (Kooshies).
The outer waterproof wrap is excellent - For over 1 month the nappy has not leaked onto the baby's clothes. It is also quite slim fitting and you wouldn't know that my DD is wearing a real nappy when she is sitting next to all her disposable-wearing NCT baby-buddies.
The only slight downside is that because they are so silky soft, putting them on is a bit like handling a blob of jelly - you have to be firm and tweak them a few times before they are fully in place.Read moreLess3 people found this review helpful.

The most versatile fit around and great for larger chunkier babies/toddlers. The quality of bamboo material is much nicer than some other leading brands and stays soft and wears well.

"i have recently purchased a complete bambinex bamboo nappy kit…"
20-Nov-2007
i have recently purchased a complete bambinex bamboo nappy kit and i am loving using them. as well as the environment issues and money i am saving i really couldnt believe how easy they would be to use.
the fit on my little boy (6months) is very snug and he looks so cuddly and cute in them! so far, i have had no leaks and am only changing him as often as i did when using the disposables. i do put an extra booster in at night but i am not sure if i actually need it.
they wash lovely and stay soft. i was a little apprehensive about how i would cope with the washing but it really hasnt been a problem for me. i received 15 nappies in the kit and this seems to be enough.Read moreLessMumsnetter moonchesterchick2

I used disposables with my eldest 2 but with the twins I decided to use cloth, bambinex was one of my choices starting with the previous wambamboo and I love them. They have never had nappy rash and the nappies have coped with everything thrown at them. However I do prefer to use the Motherease airflow wrap for a totally bombproof system. You need to wash these nappies at least 6 x I think before the absornbancy really starts to kick in.

Husband loves these - easy to put on and take off!
I like the fact that they stay nice and snuggly and don't go crunchy like some bamboo nappies do.
Leaking hasn't been a problem for us - if we need more absorbency I just pop in a booster!Read moreLess1 person found this review helpful.

Fabulous - very absorbant, lovely and soft even after a few washes and the trial version comes with a lovely fluffy fleece liner - maybe not the most practical to get poo off, but feels lovely!
Used this one overnight and no problems, the boosters I used outside the nappy weren't as wet as normal either. Find it hard to fault these!Read moreLess1 person found this review helpful.

12-Oct-2007
These nappies made from bamboo are much more environmentally friendly than their cotton counterparts given the nature of bamboo growing plentifully and quickly. They are good nappies though when folded over for a smaller fit I worry that they restrict baby's movement but I think this must be the case with all birth-potty reuseable nappies.
