This brand has consistently been the best. They are leak free, don't cause a rash and are less guilt inducing than the others available from the shop. I know they cost a bit more but when I've had to use other, big name and supermarket brand, nappies they have leaked and made my DD's bits sore. Real nappies were great when she was really little but I wouldn't use a different disposable brand.

So I'm too lazy to make my baby a cloth bum, what alternatives are there? Eco nappies....except they are not that good at being nappies.
I found that they leak and they gave my baby nappy rash (we changed her every 2 hours in the day but she'd still go a bit pink).

Not recommended. V disappointed as wanted to switch to an eco brand. Bought a double pack - one pack unusable as one of the frilly sides had been seemingly superglued down, so they either ripped the leg or the inner lining when opening. Used the other pack, and had to deal with lots of poo & wee leg leaks, so much so we've had to change her clothes up to three times a day. To top it all off, she's developed an extremely bad nappy rash, so we've had to do an emergency run to the shops to get Pampers.

We used these for the whole time our son was in nappies, he didn't have nappy rash once, they probably aren't absorbant as a pampers but then who really wants to leave their child in the same nappy for more than 4 hours unless its nightime. we rarely had any leaks and in the very hot summer they didn't seem to make him hot I guess it was due to the natural fibres.

I strongly recommend not using these nappies. They just aren't absorbent enough to protect your babies skin. We used them on our son when he was first born. Within days he developed really really bad nappy rash, as well as thrush and a bacterial infection which had to be treated with antibiotics. As soon as we switched to pampers his nappy rash cleared up and he's never had nappy rash or thrush since (now 16 months old).

Good nappies although they still use gel in them, they do at least avoid plastics in the packaging. They come up a bit small so if you find they leak you may need to go up a size.

We were using these at night, with reusables in the day. The trouble is I got fed up of washing the sleeping bag at least every other day after the nappy leaked.
It wasn't always leaking at the legs. Sometimes DD wriggled so much that the tab tore leaving the nappy hanging off one leg.
Did like the fact they're plain though.
Like someone else we've moved onto sainsbury's Eco which (touch wood) have been more reliable.Read moreLessMumsnetter Barbeasty

Really lovely. Soft, stretchy, seem to be comfortable. No leakage.
A little on the expensive side, but all these products are. I still buy them, though as I feel less guilty at putting them in the bin for landfill as they will degrade and are made from natural products, not plastics/crude oil. So if I was able to have a peace of mind score, I'd put 10.Read moreLessMumsnetter Delta4

I tried these nappies for a couple of weeks and was very disappointed. When you're used to nice soft pampers these seem really hard and scratchy. My son consistently woke up with a wet back because the nappy had leaked. Also once the tabs are unstuck you can't refasten them - not good when you have a wriggling baby and need to readjust.

25-Jan-2010
I've used these for 2.5 years now (from newborn size) and have always been really pleased with them. As some reviewers said, there have been a few design changes which haven't been great, but I've found customer service very responsive about this and have been sent vouchers to compensate if a batch wasn't great. Of all the nappies I've bought, I've had 3 dodge packs. I know this isn't ideal, however that's the only downside to a nappy that is much more eco friendly and I feel better putting it on my child than a more chemical version. I've not had any bad experiences with exploding poos etc. and really do recommend these.

Their range used to be fantastic but they have now changed the design of the tabs and they no longer fit well, stay put or contain poo. I have always loved these nappies and could not sing their praises highly enough. BUT they have recently changed the design of the tabs and they are now rubbish, the tabs don't stick properly and easily come undone. 03-Apr-2009
I have been using these since our son was 2 months old, and find them excellent. I am still wondering about reusables, and these salve my conscience in the meantime!
They are a nice fit, a bit bulkier than Pampers but still fitting fine under clothes. His skin feels dry even when the nappy is full and apart from the occasional BF runny poo (which I also got with Pampers), there have been no leaks. Very little nappy rash (less than with Pampers) and he appears to be comfy although it is hard to tell!!
It is great not to have cartoon characters on a nappy as well!
They are available at Boots, Mothercare and Sainsbury's and are the same price as Pampers. We tend to stock up when they are on special offer so they work out reasonable price.
We did find that the sizes were a bit larger than Pampers, so when he was in Pampers 3 he was still too small for Nature Baby 3, but this was not a problem.
All in all, very pleased with them.Read moreLessMumsnetter KirstyJC

04-Dec-2008
A good choice for those seeking an eco-friendly alternative to Pampers etc... and are readily available from Boots etc... but not as good as the Wiona brand of disposable nappies which I've been using since DS was born a month ago and are 75% bio-degradable with the remaining 15% being deemed 'environmentally neutral' although I'm not really sure what that means. However, the down side is that they're only available from selected websites such as bumpto3.com (you can at least claim the Mumsnet 10% discount) and can't be bought in any of the well known stores, as far as I'm aware. DS has not had a hint of nappy rash since we started using them and their absorbency is fantastic. We've only had one leak in six weeks and that was because he needed to move on to the next size up.

I started using nature baby care nappies just after i had my second child as a friend recommended them to me, i tried them a couple of years earlier with my first baby but found the lack of elasticated sides a bit of a problem, However they have recently changed in their design, The are not quite as flexible as pampers active fit, but there flexiable enough. I used active fit with my eldest and tried huggies aswell, she suffered alot with nappy rash. My youngest is now 14 months and whilst she has some dry skin problems (not just in the nappy area) she has only ever had nappy rash once and that was quite mild, I think it is vastly due to the natural and breathable materials used. I would recommend to anyone, They keep my daughter dry day and night, even when quite full in the morning, they dont break down.

I love nature babycare nappies. I have tried other brands but these are just as reliable, comfortable and added advantage of being made from natural materials (corn.) Also, they are cheaper than pampers and I feel much better about using them as are so much better for the environment, being 100% biodegradeable. I just wish the supermarket giants sold them, as neither Asda nor Tesco do. I now get them from a local supplier free delivery!!

Nature Babycare nappy pants are great! Just like their nappies they dont leak at all. I use them on a night now for my little girl as she's potty trained during day and they have NEVER leaked! no smells, rashes or leaks. 06-Aug-2008
These are excellent I use them for my potty trained son at night. Occasionally a very wet nappy will leak but that could be the same for any brand used at nighttime. Very easy to get on a wriggling toddler and he can pull them down easily when he wants to use his potty. They are nice and soft and unplasticky. Availabilty is an issue - not in smaller stores or some supermarkets. Mainly biodegradable which is a great reason for using them. The pack wrapping is supposedly compostable, but it does take some time to breakdown, ie after the rest of the compost heap has!

These nappies are improving - I'm now using them with my second child. They still leak a bit more than Pampers and the waist isn't as flexible so they can cut into the top of your baby's thighs if you don't put them on right. Availability can be a problem as they're not usually available in smaller stores or some supermarkets. However they feel fresher for your baby due to less plastic and are largely biodegradable which is why I use them. Also they don't have (pointless?) pictures printed on which must also be more environmentally friendly as no extra ink is being used. I also use the nappy bags and wipes which are great.

I really like these nappies. We generally use reuseables now but we used to use these between 0-3 and then 6-11 months and we still use these at night. They really are the best disposable nappy at containing explosive poos. We've only had a couple of leaks but they're much better than more famous brands. Recently we have had a couple of leaks of wee if we didn't change him fairly soon in the morning, but then the nappy will have been worn for 10-11 hours straight. I love that they're mostly biodegradeable and they're what we'll use when we go away on holiday.

I originally didn't like these when my son was very small - I thought that they were too stiff and papery, but I have used then from size 2 onwards as his main nappy and I'm very pleased that they are performant and are less damaging to the environment. Only a couple of negatives: 1)They are not that great for night-use because they soak right through to the outer layer. 2) They are a bit harsh in hot, sticky weather - the papery texture can be rough against skin, especially around the waistband.

Friends of mine use Huggies and I hear stories of leaky nappies all the time regardless of the age of the child using them. These only leak with newborn milky poo - which leaks no matter which nappy is used.

I used a mixture of real and eco friendly disposables but when it came time for potty training, these pull ups really have been a help at night time. As far as I am aware, there are no other disposable pull ups that are even vaguely environmentally friendly. I use them because they are also the only ones that my little girl does not have a sensitive reaction to - other brands bring her out in a huge rash all over her bottom. They are cheap, easy to use and really effective. They are easy to pull up and down which means my little girl can go to the toilet by herself at night and get her nappy pants back on. The only downside is that only Waitrose stock these nappy pants in Bristol, although Sainsburys and Boots stock the normal nappy version.

We've used these from when our little boy was born and have been really pleased with them. Their 'green' credentials helped salve my conscience for never really getting to grips with reusables(!) and they have been reliable day and night and seem to be comfy. When we've had leaks (in the early days) I just moved up to the next size and it seemed to do the trick. Our son was a fairly slim baby and around the 50th centile on the charts; I've heard they are not so good on 'chubby' babies but don't know if that's the case for all?

I find these an excellent choice of nappies. They are still disposable, better for the environment, easy to use, and the nappy sacks and wipes are genuinely fragrance free. Someone earlier commented on their absobent features. I found the opposite. My daughter has been using these since she was born and we have only had to revert to pampers twice (due to local stores being out of stock) and found that Nature Babycare were far more absorbent, our baby sleeps right through the night and has from an early age and we have only had 1 overflowing nappy in over 4 months. The price is also identical to Huggies and Pampers. My only gripe with these nappies is that very few stores stock them so we tend to buy our nappy products online now so that we do not run out.

My daughter got on well with these. We gave up the battle to keep using reusables when she could reliably remove them at six months. As they say in the film Madagascar "If you have any poo - fling it now!" The Nature pants work well, rarely leak and there's no more screaming at change time. Mostly!

28-Jul-2007
We used these from birth with my 2.5 year old and are now using the pull up versions at night time. We found them to be very good and much better than the pampers/huggies type which seemed to have so much plastic and stitching etc that my son always got rashes and marks from them. I don't think they are as absorbent maybe and you have to change them a bit more often perhaps but we thought that was a good thing as they are slightly closer to reusable nappies and make you/the child more aware of wet/dry etc which is useful for potty training later on. We have had absolutely no problems or leaks with them. Will be using them again next time. Only slight pain is it can be hard to get hold of them in supermarkets sometimes as they don't stock many but it is getting better.

Its always nice to feel superior.

07-Jan-2007
Salve your conscience in part by switching to these disposables with 70% recyclable/biodegradable materials. They "fit well," "don't smell of chemicals" and "are as easy to use as Pampers or Huggies". If there's a downside it's their absorbency: "They do tend to fill up quite quickly and go lumpy" and "I wouldn't trust them not to leak overnight". Others warned of "persistent nappy rash" unless you "change them very frequently - more than other brands". Nevertheless: "The guilt-free choice if you go with disposables".

Having found reusable nappies bulky for my baby and time consuming for me, I felt nature boy and girl were a good alternative; you feel less guilty using a disposable when you know it is made from recycled meterial. The nappy sacs are biodegradeable which is a bonus too. Overall, they are sligtly more expensive than other brands of disposable, but they are worth it as the fit, comfort and absorbancy are superior. I would highly reccomend them.

Although only 70% biodegradable, combined with buying the 100% biodegradble wipes and nappy sacks, it does help ! Price wise they are no different to leading brands. The main problem is their availability which involves a trip to Waitrose (or Boots or Sainsburys).

Its fantastic to use disposables without the guilt about the environment as I have tried to persevere with washables but hate all the washing. I cant believe that they are actually cheaper than my old choice of brand. They are slightly less absorbent than premium nappies but that only adds up to maybe one extra change per day and are still better thatn some of the supermarket own brand nappies that I have tried. I have to admit that I still use my old brand at night as these nappies wouldnt go 12 hours and my baby is very wet at night. I would recommend to anyone who is concious about the environment.

They fit my 18 month old little boy really nicely and are every bit as absorbent as the leading brands. Even overnight they hold up well and are much better than supermarket nappies that sort of disintegrate. They feel lovely (not as plasticy-y as usual nappies). I definitely will use them over other nappies as long as the extra cost is fesible- as they are defintely more expensive even than the two big brands.
