It is really suitable from 2 years, but I’d probably have preferred my 2 year old in a travel cot where he couldn’t escape! If your DC are used to a cot this wont restrain them – so be prepared if they find their new found freedom. I also imagine the wriggliest of sleepers might wriggle over the edge.
DS is 4 and quite a tall boy so I did worry that this might be too small, however, I think it will be good for a few years yet. We did have a few issues with the pillow falling off and had to re-position him down the bed whilst settling him initially, but we soon figured it out.
The bed itself comes in a compact bag, which doesn’t take up much space in the car boot or indeed our wardrobe where we keep it whilst not in use. It’s so discreet I’ll certainly chuck it in the car wherever we’re out stopping at hotels/relatives in the UK.
It takes just seconds to inflate, using the enclosed pump. It’s genius. Deflating takes a little longer, but certainly quicker than airbeds I’ve used in the past. You can use normal sheets on it, they tuck down inside securely so you don’t need to worry about them coming undone in the night. For a more fitted option (with less fabric to tuck), it takes a sheet that is v similar size to a standard cot bed.
The first time we used this I was expecting DS to start the night in there and finish up in with us, but he stayed in there the entire night. He even asked to use it the next night back home and slept on his own bedroom floor in it, which is a sure sign that he slept well.
Reasonable price, speedy inflate and a good night sleep. Thoroughly recommended.
