"I've been really pleased with this monitor. The sound quality"
24-Jul-2011
I've been really pleased with this monitor. The sound quality and range are excellent (I can be at the end of the garden quite happily). It has a lovely small parent unit that can clip to your belt which is useful if you're dashing around the house doing jobs that require 2 hands.
The night light function is great, perfect for night feeds and giving teething gel etc. I also love the temperature sensor, as I can check it's not too hot/cold during the night.
My only complaint, and the reason I've given this 9/10 for ease of use, is that there are a lot of lights on the parent unit which I find a bit annoying when it's on the bedside table at night. The green power button flashes when plugged in and if the night light is on the little button lights up yellow (remarkably bright in a dark room). Also, if baby makes any noise, there are lights that come on (more depending on volume) - while this is a useful feature if you're in the shower, and can't hear the monitor, it is a bit disruptive at night.Read moreLessMumsnetter cantmakecarrotcake

"Bought this to replace a BT Digital Plus (now discontinued)"
29-Jul-2010
Bought this to replace a BT Digital Plus (now discontinued) that stopped linking after 4 years of intermittent use.
It has all the whistles and bells you want from a baby monitor - it's digital, so no hissing and interference like some of the analogue ones. It was also the cheapest digital one I could find. It has a temperature gauge, which I like so that I can judge what to dress my baby in for bed time. It also has a night light which is useful for night time feeds as it is not too bright, it can be activated by either parent or baby unit and also makes a reasonable night light for when you no longer need a monitor. It also has a sound activation function, which you can turn on so that it only responds to a proper cry, and you don't have to hear every snuffle and grunt, which is excellent if you are easily woken like by husband - this also means I am no longer hearing the passing cars through the window as well as via the monitor during the evening. It also has about the longest range of the monitors I looked at, and is small enough to travel easily making it useful for the (rather larger than ours!) grandparent's house.
I looked at the Tomy Digital Plus which lets you change the colour of the night light, but I'm not sure why you'd want to do this. It also had a timer supposedly to time between feeds, medicating etc, but you have to remember to activate it each time. Don't think it was worth spending another £30 for these functions!Read moreLessMumsnetter Soapsy
