"We've had no issues with this monitor and have found"
06-Mar-2012
We've had no issues with this monitor and have found it to be really useful. Ths monitor is clear with no interference and the music it plays is easy to listen to and not as annoying as some baby-toy-music. Great feature is that it has two levels of mute (Mute Low and Mute All) which is helpful at night.
Only a few annoyances- the talk button on the side is easily turned on by accident when you pick it up, the torch has the same issue.
Would recommend.Read moreLessMumsnetter stephmacd

"I felt compelled to write a review on this because"
05-Feb-2012
I felt compelled to write a review on this because of two rather important faults. We were kindly given this as a present and at first sight it looked great. Sleek and some useful options such as night light, talk feature and temp gauge. But the battery life is absolutely appalling! It seems other people have the same issue although I find it hard to believe ours is not faulty. 2 hours max before it goes which means carrying the charger around everywhere which kind of defeats the point! But of more concerns is the temp gauge which is clearly showing 2-3 degrees warmer than the room. Two independent thermometers have confirmed this. Surely when temperature is so important BT should be making sure this is spot on?! Overall pretty unimpressed

"Recently bought this monitor because our other one stopped working."
07-Nov-2011
Recently bought this monitor because our other one stopped working. Its really user friendly and has a torch, which is really useful and it plays lullabies. It also lets you know if the parent unit is out of range of the baby unit. The audio is excellent

"I won this baby monitor but after a few months"
20-Oct-2011
I won this baby monitor but after a few months it has stopped working. The power button on the parent unit has broken and it is extremely difficult to turn on and off. The battery life on the parent unit is very poor, sometimes only lasting a few hours. The temperature reading on it seems to be too high. We have a Gro Egg and the BT unit is always 2 to 3 degrees higher (which is incorrect as we tested it using another thermometer). We were previously using the Angelcare system but when we no longer needed the movement sensor we thought we'd give this a try. The only advantages the BT 250 has over the Angelcare is that the sound quality is better and that the parent unit has a torch. Overall I'm very disappointed with this and would have been very annoyed had I purchased it myself.

"Given this as a present, the sound quality is great"
12-Oct-2011
Given this as a present, the sound quality is great and it works well in our large victorian house but the belt clip on thing is useless and the battery life isn't as long as I'd hoped.

"We gave the little one's grandparents our bt 150 baby"
29-May-2011
We gave the little one's grandparents our bt 150 baby monitor (which we never had a single problem with) for his overnight stays and decided to try out the 250 to see if the HD quality sound was any good. We've had the unit now for a couple months and after a couple weeks I'm now used to the increased sensitivity! When we first got it I spent my evenings trekking back up the stairs after hearing a new sound to realise it's just my little boy sniffing; the sound clarity is that good. The unit is brilliant for picking up everything and giving you the choice on how loudly to relay it.
The mother unit gives you lots of info and you can tweak the alarms to fit your conditions.
Overall I've found the 250 to be great value for money and a definite upgrade over the 150.Read moreLess1 person found this review helpful.

"a very effective way of monitoring your baby when they"
28-Apr-2011
a very effective way of monitoring your baby when they are not physically with them. The monitor is very effective & picks up any sound or noise from the baby and you can hear the moise and also the flashing ligths also helps alert me.

"Love this, especially the talk function, which we still use"
13-Apr-2011
Love this, especially the talk function, which we still use on an older version with our toddler. It means that we can talk to her wherever we are in house - handy when you need to get on with all those jobs once their in bed!
The lullabies are also a very useful cue for your baby that it is sleeptime. My only negative is that the parent unit loses battery charge quite quickly after a while.Read moreLess1 person found this review helpful.

"We have had three monitors in our time, John Lewis'"
06-Apr-2011
We have had three monitors in our time, John Lewis' own (terrible, broke within days) the BT 150 (very good) and now this one. To be fair, it doesn't seem to have as many functions as the 150 (mp3 player plug in, parent voice record function) but to be honest, the functions it has lost we never used anyway - who has the time when a new baby is born?! I really like this monitor, it has all the things I like about the 150. Namely, it has really great sound quality that can be adjusted to be ultra sensitive or just alert you when baby is crying. The ability to operate the baby unit from the parent unit (i.e. turn the music on or off). The night light so you don't fall flat on your face when you go in the nursery. The talk function so you can soothe baby whilst you are on your way. But it is prettier than the 150. Really nice looking sleek, white unit with a lovely light that can be low or high. The temperature gage glows blue if the room is too cold and red if it is too hot. The music isn't as annoying - some of the classical music is quite nice on this one. All in all, I think it's great another practical but nice looking monitor from BT.

"This is our first baby monitor, although we did a"
05-Apr-2011
This is our first baby monitor, although we did a lot of research into them before getting this one. Although I'm not able to compare with the 150, you are able to see the temperature on the parent unit, it's all there in the menu!
First off, the sound is great, really clear with no interference and works well from two floors away. What you want is a monitor that provides clear sound consistently and the 250 delivers this; extra features are helpful but you need it to do the basics well. The base unit has a pager function, should you forget where you left the parent unit, and also the base changes colour depending on the ambient temperature, and it's pretty accurate and quick to respond to changes. It also handily doubles as a night light, and sends an alarm if the room gets too hot or cold. There is two way talk, a vibrate function and a torch (very useful) on the parent unit. You can play a range of lullaby type tunes to the baby too, but some are better than others! Overall, a great unit, we are very happy with it, and would recommend it.Read moreLessMumsnetter tenordad

"Typical BT to 'improve' the incredibly good BT 150 monitor"
20-Mar-2011
Typical BT to 'improve' the incredibly good BT 150 monitor with this inferior version. It no longer has a temperature gauge on the baby unit, which used to be really handy when deciding what to dress baby in for the night. Also, the new buttons at the top are too easy to press and mute accidently, whereas you can chuck the 150 in your bag/pocket knowing that the settings will remain the same.

"The sound quality is excellent. The lullaby selection and quality"
08-Feb-2011
The sound quality is excellent. The lullaby selection and quality really good, very relaxing. It also has a torch on the handset which is very handy for checking on baby without disturbing them.
On the downside the buttons on the wireless handset are a little too easy to use! You can quite easily knock them on inadvertently.
Overall though I've been so impressed with it. It's really helped me get used to my little one sleeping in her own room - just like she's right next to me... very reassuring for a nervous first time mum!Read moreLessMumsnetter FaithE
