"Good monitor..... when it works!…"
26-Jun-2012
I bought this monitor as it has the sensor pad which gives me peace of mind. I like all the functions and find it easy to use. However, I have had a problem with the parent unit switching itself off. Angel Care sent me a replacement unit free of charge. This has not resolved the problem. If I keep the unit on the charge all the time it works but that prevents you from carrying the unit around the house. Until they sort this problem out I would not recommend this product. And don't set your mobile phone near it or it loses connectivity.

"Peace of mind…"
11-Jun-2012
Our twin girls spent a month in special care and when we brought them home they were so tiny still that I had to buy the angel care sensors for peace of mind and for my own sanity. If I did not have these I would not be able to sleep because I would be up and down all night checking on my twins. I haven't yet used the sound part of the monitor as the girls sleep in our room. One in a cot & one in a moses basket (I bought 2 angel care monitors - one which is both sound & movement and one which is just movement). You do have to fiddle with the sensitivity to get it right, the alarm has gone off about 3/4 times since buying it, resulting in me frantically wriggling my daughter whilst she is asleep to make sure is still breathing but the only reason it went off is because the sensitivity wasn't right. Now that it is right we haven't had any false alarms and I love this product.

I wish I'd just bought a bog-standard cheap monitor rather than this one. I didn't find the sound quality very good and it was quite fiddly.
However, the movement bit is quite good for peace of mind in the early weeks.Read moreLessMumsnetter dogindisguise

"Peace of mind for stressed new parents…"
21-Apr-2012
We bought this monitor as our DS would only sleep on his front. After many, many sleepness nights for both of us we researched movement monitors and chose the Angelcare. I love the visual reassurance on both the base unit and handset that all is well. I still use it now and DS is over one!

I think it's great. I probably would have been checking my baby's breathing every 5 minutes without it. He likes to move around in his cot when he's sleeping and it still picks up his movement. We've had a couple of false alarms but I suspect that they were due to me not putting the sensor pad back quite right after a bedding change.

Very Dangerous!
The parent units turn themselves off sometimes if a mobile phone passes near to it. I have had two units and they both do the same - what's worse is that the UK distrubutor has been aware for some time that the problem exists.
Please think twixe before buying one of these or its variations - you cannot rely on the parent unit to stay turned on.Read moreLessMumsnetter paddybloke

Absolutely brilliant. The motion monitor gives you that extra bit of reassurance that babe is ok and the room thermometer is really useful too. Can't imagine having any other monitor. Just wish it had a picture screen as well ...

This is a fab product for a paranoid mother like myself. It works brilliantly, however my daughter is a wriggly worm when asleep which sets off the alarm when she ends up cuddled in the far end corner of her cot. Despite this i thoroughly recommend it and it perfect for any mother who panics like me

Fab product. I was worried about cot death and my friend told me about this system. It gives me great peace of mind to know that my baby is safe while he sleeps.
Used it in the moses basket and now in the cot. My husband took a while to get use to having to turn it off before taking baby out of cot, so it use to go off on a regular basis. But, now we are use to doing it. Never had a false alarm.
My baby moves round the cot a lot but the sensor pad still picks up on his breathing.
The temp monitor is also great as it shows you how hot the room is. I would be lost with out this product.

Sanity-saving (if not life-saving) product. I was very paranoid about cot death after a traumatic birth of my son, I don't know how I would have managed without this monitor. I've used the same monitor again with my daughter too.
I recently had an issue with the adaptor and emailed their customer service dept - they posted a new one out immediately free of charge. I wish all companies operated like this!Read moreLess1 person found this review helpful.

This is a fantastic monitor.. it has a movement board you can place under your child's mattress and if it doesnt detect breathing for 20 seconds it goes off.. if you dont need to use this feature it can be disconnected. the child's monitor has a nightlight attached to it too. additionally it has sensor settings, so you can adjust it to listen to every slight baby whimper, or only the loudest toddler MAMA!

"A really good unit. A little stressful to work out…"
22-Feb-2011
A really good unit. A little stressful to work out at first - because as you first set it up it seems to default to the motion sensor so the alarm keeps going off! But once you've figured it out (which should only take 10 minutes) you're away. There are a number of good points to this - false alarms with the motion sensor are very rare (once your baby gets a bit more mobile you may choose to disconnect it though), it's very reliable, and has a voice-activated option. When my baby was smaller this was disabled because I wanted to hear everything but now she's a toddler and I've no wish to be woken by every sleepy mutter it's a Godsend, it means I'm only woken when I need to be woken. Would thoroughly recommend.

17-Feb-2011
My son is 31/2 months old and I have just put him in his cot in his own room because I have the Angelcare monitor and feel secure that it will let me know if he makes a noise or stops breathing. We have tested it and the alarm sounds within seconds of non-movement. The sound is clear, the temperature is shown and it also comes with a nightlight, so far an excellent product for peace of mind.

02-Jan-2011
This has a breathing sensor mat and a listening type monitor. There is a nightlight function too.
PROS
- No constant crackling as if there is nothing to hear. The parent end falls silent, there is a visual metronome on the display so you know it is working!
- If baby stops breathing after 20 seconds the alarm goes off both at baby and parent end
- Enough channels to swap if someone next door gets one!
- Range is good enough for our back garden easily
CONS
- More expensive than others but the peace of mind is absolutely priceless. I always slept fine and was very very paranoid before got this product.
Would, and have, recommend to anyone.Read moreLessMumsnetter TrickyWoo

03-Dec-2010
Absolutely bomb proof and really easy to use with the very useful temperature display. Reliable unlike the two crap monitors (Avent dect and BT 100) we purchased after the motion pad became redundant around 9 months. The drawback is that you can't use the monitor without the pad, and there is an annoying interference in the sound when volume is turned high, but it really needn't be - you can hear the baby on low volume as well.

18-Nov-2010
I LOVE this product. We kept our son in his crib in our room for 6 months because I have always been extremely nervous with cot death. One friend told me about that product one day, which I researched on the web and I got it the same week. Since then, all good. It has put my mind at peace and my son is now sleeping in his own bedroom for nearly 2 months. It is a bit expensive but very efficient and does its job. Not for all mums maybe, as some may be more stressed with it than without, but worked perfectly for me. It won't alarm you for nothing but it will in case something happens to your child.
