We had the monitor without the movement pad, the picture quality started of very clear, but unfortunately after 8 months it went very poor, we weren't able to see our son in his cot!
Also the camera does not tilt down very much, and as someone else said, the flashing lights on the camera will drive you mad if the hand unit is switched off, also the nightlight is, in my opinion, a bit too bright!
We ended up getting a full refund & different make.Read moreLess
First off the backlit buttons on the camera Unit are very bright and lights up the nursery which isn't ideal when your trying to keep it dark.
When the hand unit goes flat as it will rapidly after the first 6 months the 2 very bright backlit buttons on the camera start flashing ! What do they expect the baby to do? Get out of the cot to turn the camera unit off? The temperature has always been wrong on it and now the night vision has failed after 18 months. Also the hand unit makes a very loud click when baby triggers it, trouble is its so loud even if baby is just turning over the click will wake you up in the night.
The hand unit also has a VERY bright backlit power button which WILL light up your bedroom at night so we always end up throwing a towel or shirt over it.
Also the camera has a limited range of tilt, so even when the camera is on the change unit next to the cot, we can't tilt it down enough to see baby clearly.
Finally we have found using the microwave interferes with the signal, as does an iPad, laptop or mobile phone.Read moreLess
We have one without the motion pad. Started really well - clear picture, good sound, nice feature with the changing lights. But within 6 weeks the night camera broke. We got the first one replaced and then within 6 weeks the replacement broke as well! The camera feature died again, but this time not just the night vision. Such a shame.Read moreLess
"Fairly good but quality gets worse over time…"
note: we have digital camera no motion sensor
We have had out monitor for 19 months. It started off with great picture, accurate thermostat and working volume monitor (bars that light up when baby makes a noise). It has a good range and provides a night light for the nursery. Unfortunately the quality deteriorated quite a lot after approx 8 months. Could no longer see anything at night, vol sensorsade it look like our baby was crying/making noise when there was none, temp was always a couple of degrees out and the battery life reduced dramatically. I would say unfortunately it probably isn't worth the money due to it's short life span.Read moreLess
We bought the Tomy Video monitor with movement sensor pad and have found this absolutely brilliant. I love being able to see whay my DD is doing in his room and the pad gives me some welcome reassurance whilst he sleeps. The quality is excellant and although I have had a couple of problems one with the monitor and one with the pad TOMY's customer service is absolutely first class and as soon as I contacted them they have sent out replacements without any hesitation. Would definatly recommend.Read moreLess
