"I was really unsure whether to buy a cocoonabayby mattress"
10-Mar-2012
I was really unsure whether to buy a cocoonabayby mattress as I was worried that it would just be another fad item to add to the many baby seats etc I had brought for my first child. I decided to purchase as it was my only costly buy with my second child.
I have to say I have not been disappointed. Although pricey I would most certainly recommend this as a good buy. 100 time better than a moses basket and not that much more expensive. My son has slept well from the word go (6/7 hours from 2 weeks) and loves to lie in it during the day watching his mobile go round. He is much more content when in his cocconababy than when lying flat.
I would also say that if you are looking for a safe way to co sleep with your child then this is an excellent option as you can have the mattress next to you in bed.
A really excellent purchase.Read moreLessMumsnetter mandoo

"Sleep. A word that will run circles around your brain"
07-Mar-2012
Sleep. A word that will run circles around your brain for the first months (or years!) of your child's life.
I loved Cocoonababy! My baby slept through the night from day 1, she didn't had fat head, no reflux and was happy all the time! I could take her with me everywhere in the house (on a carpet in the living room, on the floor in our room)...It was developed by Drs in France and it is approved by the Australian authority called TGA (Therapeutic goods of administration) which reassures me a lot!
I got lots of info from this website: www.pacificare.com.au.

"Out of all of the years working with babies, I"
06-Aug-2011
Out of all of the years working with babies, I have never come across something like this.
Originally made in France, the Cocoonababy was introduced to me through my work as a maternity nurse to twins just recently.
To describe it from the aesthetic, it looks similar to what a memory foam matress would look like if one was made for a newborn. However, the Cocoonababy is so much more. The benefits are endless : provides support for baby's back and neck, prevents 'flat head syndrome' in newborns, reduces gastric reflux and allows babies to interact with their surrounding environment due to correct positioning.
To be honest, at £119 (can be found cheaper on other websites) it didn't appeal to me at first, it just sounded like a useless baby gadget. However, after seeing in person the soothing effects it has on a newborn, I take back my wariness and negative outlook. The best part is, it can be used both during the day and at night time. And the updated model now comes with a strap which simulates the comforting the baby would get from being swaddled.
I honestly think this is going to be the new up and coming trend for all newborns to have. It not only lets the baby be in a soothing, comfortable environment, it provides parents with peace of mind for their newborn baby.
Take a look and tell me what your initial thoughts are!
