"I was soooo impressed with the capacity - double usual…"

I was soooo impressed with the capacity - double usual loads - no more washing piles on the floor...then...everything stopped. Apparently it has an open seal and a couple of DD's socks managed to work through jamming the system. This happened within weeks. A matter of weeks later and apparently the same thing but t shirts. It is a design flaw. I would not have rated the machine so low had it not been for the APPALLING customer service from LG - I was without a machine for weeks while they ordered parts. I was advised by a lovely call handler chap to ring their support team to get recompense for the not insignificant laundry bills at local launderette. I was eventually sent a legal letter asking me to waive all rights and guarantees to the machine in exchange for

"One must bare in mind that my previous washing machine…"

One must bare in mind that my previous washing machine was 20+years old so understandably I am excited by the multitude of programmes and coloured lights on offer. However this machine has exceeded my expectations,it has been tested on a range of revolting stains and up to now has only been defeated by black mould on a sleeping bag, which to be fair was still in evidence even after a severe bleaching.I would not hesitate to recommend this product-and if it lasts 20+ years I shall be delighted.

"It has a whopping 11kg capacity and I basically load…"

It has a whopping 11kg capacity and I basically load up everything I can carry. I wash much less than before and it has a delay start button so I can use it at night (econ 7). I would say there are far too many programmes and I only use 2 of them. It occasionally throws a wobbly when it refuses to spin if the load is uneven (towels usually) but you can pause, open, re-arrange and then re-start. This has to be better than having the bearings wear out though, even if inconvenient. It has little tunes when it starts and finishes. I shopped around and bought online. Only other problem I hadn't considered was that it sticks out a few inches further than normal machines and if I'd known before having kitchen worktops fitted, would have gone for deeper tops to accomodate it. Very pleaed though.

"When I got this machine, I loved it because it's…"
27-Sep-2010
When I got this machine, I loved it because it's so big you can fit everything in. However, I'm returning it just 6 days later because I have discovered that the child lock doesn't lock the on/off button (a nice bright blue lit up one). Have had to restart my washing three times this morning after DS has turned it off. IMO, not fit for purpose.
