"Expensive but built to last…"
I knew this would be an investment, but after going through a toaster a year I felt it was an investment worth making. 5 or 6 years on and it's still going strong.
I bought the classic 4 slice toaster with a gunmetal finish. It looks beautiful and the stainless steel shines up brilliantly. It takes a bit of getting used to, as it works best and quickest if you put it on to warm first. Also, it doesn't pop up when the toast is done so you either need to get used to gauging the dial or just keep and eye on your toast.
It makes a wonderful ticking noise when on, properly classic. The lever to lift the toast has a satisfying action (these things please me!). You can choose whether to have it on 2 slices or 4, so you don't waste electricity heating it when you don't need to.
The best thing though, is that the elements (and probably all the other parts too) can be replaced if they break. I'm pretty sure that this toaster will see me through my whole life and probably be passed on to the DCs after my time - there's not many appliances you can say that about.
Ooh, and importantly, the toast tastes great as it's toasted quickly and efficiently - the bread doesn't dry out. I do love it!Read moreLess
