"Brilliant, everyone should have one!…"
I absolutely love my george foreman family grill, I was a little unsure what to expect after having owned one around 15 years ago (not a george foreman one though) and it was a complete pain to clean, but im pleased to say the George Foreman Grill is an excellent choice.
It doesn't break the bank like a few other grills, for £30 or around that price its a really good buy, the only problem I have discovered after owning it for around 6 months is that the plastic catches which hold the top and bottom together when you stand it upright have become loose (probably due to heat as they are just plastic, would have been better made from a stronger material) and they no longer click in place but i'm still able to stand it upright without it falling down, its a great space saving quality too being able to stand it up and just pop away once cooled.
The grill is so versatile, mine hardly ever actually goes into the cupboard because we use it so much, we make toasties, bacon, sausage, grill vegetables and chicken, make paninis and all sorts of different things!
The non stick plates are great, I didn't bother buying the fancy sponges to clean it with I just use a jay cloth, I clean mine whilst its still warm as its easier to just wipe off the residue from food (just be careful as it does get very hot, very quickly!) it heats up in no time at all, its also got a hinged top so you can do thicker items too, such as large chicken breasts/toasting baguettes to melt fillings etc
I would recommend this size even if there is only 2 people using it, as even for a family i think its a little on the small side, your can fit 4 rashers of bacon/3 chicken breast on at a time, which suits us but a family with more members may find they can't cook everything at the same time.
it comes with a little collector for the fat which just slots in under the grill, easy to clean and wash (dishwasher safe too), I like seeing all the fat in the pot once cooking has finished, its nice to know your not eating all that horrid oozy fat, and your meal is much healthier for using the george foreman.
overall I would recommend the george foreman grill, since buying one my mum bought one after hearing me rave about it, and then my nan bought mum once my mum had been saving about how fab hers is too.Read moreLess
