"Woodlands is a real family favourite. We normally go in"
17-Oct-2011
Woodlands is a real family favourite. We normally go in a large group of friends with children ranging from 2 to 12 years old.
The indoor play area is huge with fairground rides aswell, all included in the price. There are rides suited for children of all ages and they also cater for birthday parties.
One of the best times to go is during Halloween. There are loads of activities including a night-time walk down to the haunted lake carrying lit pumpkins. Go in fancy dress!!
Fantastic day out, go if you can!Read moreLessMumsnetter lowie131

"Fantastic day out - kept both 6yo and 1yo amused."
07-Aug-2011
Fantastic day out - kept both 6yo and 1yo amused.
Five floor soft play (with smaller section for tiny ones) meant that even though it was raining in the morning we still had fun.
Animal petting zoo, water slides (though there was a long queue for them, sand play, outdoor play areas and obstacle courses, another soft play area, few theme park style rides (incl pirate ship). Could have spent several days there.
Cheaper than most theme parks £55 bought a ticket for 4 adults (children over 110cms are counted as adults). Our 6yo was well over 110cm - however this did mean he could go on all the rides.
Big undercover bring your own picnic area plus you can eat own food in e.g. softplay. There is food available, but apart from cafe at entrance (sandwiches/salads), all cafes/food sites serve exactly the same very cheap (price and quality) burgers/hotdogs and chips and nothing else. There are ice cream stands around as well.
There is an attached campsite which if you stay there you can get free entry to the theme park. They also do a deal where you can pay a couple of quid extra and get 7 day entry.
Toilets were freely scattered around but not all had baby changing areas and those that did didn't think to include things like bins. Toilets were clean though and stocked up with toilet roll and hand soap.
All in all the kids had a much better day out than legoland for less than a third of the cost. Only real downside was the food.Read moreLessMumsnetter TheArmadillo

"Absolutely brilliant day put went with 3 under 4's and"
13-Aug-2009
Absolutely brilliant day put went with 3 under 4's and there was still plenty to do, and even more to do for older children (can't wait til my three are big enough for the flumes and slides!!).
We went on a wet day and there are 2 great soft play areas for big kids and smaller ones) and loads of stuff still to do outside (particularly if you have good wet weather gear/ don't mind a bit of rain).
There are reasonable poacked luch areas or if you prefer not too expensive (for a theme park) meals with different styles in different areas (healthly options or fat boy burgers).
Ticket price is slightly more than we anticipated as we had to pay full price for our 3 yr old as she was over a specific height (but this also meant she had access to more of the rides).
All in all FAB day out and lovely for any one wanting something to do on a not so lovely day in South DevonRead moreLess2 people found this review helpful.
