"We went to Peppa pig world in November and despite"
19-Nov-2011
We went to Peppa pig world in November and despite some of the rides being closed for the season we still had a great time.
Parking was a bit of a nightmare but once we got in the girls were over the moon. We only had at maximum a 10 minute wait for any ride so was able to do everything in a couple of hours, along with having our photo's taken in daddy pigs car, chocolate spread sandwiches from the cafe, a good hour in the indoor soft play area (probably the best one we have ever been to), dd got a big hug from George, toffeeapple popcorn, massive helium balloons and topped the day off with a visit to the flamingos which was on our way out of the park.
Took us about 20 minutes to find our car but after the parking fiasco we had all jumped out and forgot to check where we had parked so no one to blame for that but ourselves.
Would happily recommend the park to friends.Read moreLessMumsnetter karyncake

"Great park for little ones with a few bigger rides"
01-Nov-2011
Great park for little ones with a few bigger rides for older kids!
We went in October half term and found short queues, lots of space, places to go that are quieter and a few traditional English attractions - wind in the willows wall through with models of characters.
My 2 year old could go on most rides as he was over (just!) the 90cm mark without this he wouldnt have been able to go on much.
Peppa pig world is lovely and makes the main park seem a little tired. Although some rides are the same from paultons park just with Peppa Pig stuck on it ;-)Read moreLessMumsnetter alp

It was a well designed park for young children. The Peppa pig world is ideal for approx 5-6 and under. The indoor soft play was excellent. Good amount of outdoor seating, not much indoor. the rides (peppa pig) mostly adult and child, excellent all round. The park itself is ideal for primary school aged children. excellent day out.

Fab!
Apart from the food being expensive (but let's face it what theme parks don't overcharge in this area) it is a thoroughly great day out for those with Peppa Pig made kiddies like mine.
Everywhere you go they pipe in PP music, everything is SO lovely and new (especially after having walked through Paultons Park to get to it) and exactly like in the cartoon. The rides are great fun, original and in keeping with the programme also; although if you're taking really small ones it would be worth reading up online first as a lot of them have height restrictions so we had problems in that one kiddy was big enough for some rides but his sister was too small.
That said our 14 month old still squealed with delight the whole way round even though she wasn't allowed on the dinosaur ride.
Can't praise it highly enough.Read moreLessMumsnetter chevytruck

"BRILLIANT day out for toddlers! We went Monday 3rd October"
04-Oct-2011
BRILLIANT day out for toddlers! We went Monday 3rd October and it was ideal, not too busy with unseasonably warm weather and 5minute queues! PPWorld is beautifully done and well thought out, but it is not that big so agree with the comments that on a predictably busy day you're gonna find it crowded and long queues.
My overall tips/ thoughts:
1. With entry into PP World you get entry into Paultons Park too so its better value for money than first thought.
2. We ordered our adult tickets online and waited until the day to see if our 3.5yr old would need a ticket (1m height rule). The pre-ordered tickets meant we were ushered straight through to the turnstiles where they didn't pay any attention to our eldest ducking under the height barrier! To be fair he is probably bang on 1m give or take, so not a massive surprise but £20 saved none the less!
3. It officially opened at 10.30am the day we went, but we arrived at the entrance around 10.10am and people were let in straight away so worth getting there early
4. George pig's muddy puddle is a splash park area, so water fountains etc so take swimming costumes/and or towels and a full change of clothes (no need for welly boots....)
5. Take a picnic, food and drinks are - predictably - expensive
6. The indoor soft play was probably the biggest hit for our boys as they got to run free and explore to their hearts content. Its all lovely and light and clean and new too, so not such a hardship for parents
7. In the corner of PP world is a tractor ride (not part of PP world) and if you have boys they will love that too!
We had very short queues if any, no traffic, and happy worn out children by the end of the day - overall a really great day out.Read moreLessMumsnetter onebigchocolatemess

"We went on the 29 August, which was BH Monday."
04-Oct-2011
We went on the 29 August, which was BH Monday. We expected it to be heaving but most of the older part of the park was OK. Peppa Pig world we queued for 40 mins for each ride. The only thing that really made me annoyed was queuing for the Dinosaur ride and having 2 children come up the queue to join their parents at the front and each one of them was on a separate dino- parents included. The only justification for pushing in is when a family is sharing a carriage. Other than that we had a great day.

Hell on Earth! 3rd Sept 2011
Peppa Pig World is lovely to look at and could be wonderful. BUT it is a victim of its own popularity. We queued for 30 mins to enter the carpark from the sliproad, queued to pay £86 for 4 of us, 30 minutes queue for ladies toilets and all this before we got to PPW!
Did a total of 4 rides inside in 6 hours when we had to admit defeat. It was such a shame. PPW is clean and set up beautifully but we had to queue more than an hour for each ride which just isnt acceptable or practical with toddlers. This attraction is just more popular than it can justify and people were flooding in all day. There needs to be a maximum number in and out of PPW as that is where EVERYONE headed and stayed.
Also disappointing that there are no character meet n greets with photo opportunities for the children. We will never return and Im just glad that our Peppa obsessed daughter will hopefully grow out of her soon.Read moreLess1 person found this review helpful.

"What an absolute nightmare!!! We went on Wed and queued"
26-Aug-2011
What an absolute nightmare!!! We went on Wed and queued 3 hours to get on 3 rides!!! We paid just over £60 for a 'family of 3' ticket (thank goodness our 2 year old is less than 1m tall otherwise we would have had to pay more for her too!!). We arrived at 11am and by 2pm we had basically paid £20 per ride that we had been able to access!! Queues for the attractions snaked into the walkways and I had serious concerns regarding the successful evacuation of the area in the potential event of a fire/bomb threat. We eventually gave up on Peppa Pig World and accessed the rest of the park. Admittedly queues in the rest of the park were comparatively more acceptable however my 2 year old was not tall enough to access many of the attracttions (the main reason for taking my 2 & 4 year old daughters to Peppa Pig World!). This could have been such a wonderful day out...-... if only Paulton's Park was to implement a 'maximum occupancy of the area' scheme, or SOMETHING!!! I accept Paulton's cannot be to blame for the weather however, at the end of a long, damp, trying day when we just wanted to get home, we had the horror of competing with almost every other customer (who was also initially so pleased to acquire a parking space in the MASSIVE car park) to exit through a SINGLE lane all at the same time!!!! The park closed at 5.30pm and we managed to exit via car at 7.00pm - we were lucky - I don't believe I am exaggerating when I estimate that there were still probably about 300 cars still waiting to exit the 'attraction' after we were lucky enough to make our escape. What a perfect end to a perfect day! I am so disappointed; I wouldn't even recommend this 'attraction' to my worst enemy.

"Just come back from two days at Peppa Pig World"
30-May-2011
Just come back from two days at Peppa Pig World and had a fabulous time. Agree with everything said in the other reviews but just wanted to add the following. Ds (2.8yrs) also enjoyed the other rides around Paultons Park which had hardly any queues so it is worth exploring. We booked our break through Paultons and stayed at the Holiday Inn Winchester, the total cost of the three of us was £115. The hotel was modern and big, nice sized rooms, good breakfast and only a 20min drive from the park. I'd really recommend it.

"What a great day, we went here mainly for Peppa"
20-May-2011
What a great day, we went here mainly for Peppa Pig World and as a stop over before heading to the New Forrest. This place is more than a stop over, we were not disappointed; there is so much for young children. The indoor soft play with a fantastic choice of slides, fun soft ball factory, climbing areas. There are two wet play areas, so bring swim suits and changes of clothes! There is also a great sand pit/climbing area with shaded seating. The kids loved the dinosaur walk which has big sized models dotted along a wooden platform walk way. The massive mat slide was another hit.... Yep, kept them busy for hours. The place is immaculately well kept, there are beautiful gardens with exotic aviaries for calming down time! We went off peak and the ques were very short. Well worth a trip; my kids are age 2 and 4 and they wanted to stay forever!

"We visited Paulton's Park primarily to see Peppa Pig World."
02-May-2011
We visited Paulton's Park primarily to see Peppa Pig World. It's a really nice, bright, clean and well designed feature of the park.
Unfortunately, on the day we went the weather was glorious and it was heaving. Having to wait for approx 30 minutes per ride with a small child is not much fun for anyone but I don't really know how they could improve this.
One word of caution - definitely book online beforehand. If not, it will cost £21 per person (unless they're under a metre tall and they do measure). I wasn't expecting to pay £21 for a three year...Read moreLessMumsnetter BelleDameSansMerci

"Not a regular reviewer, but had to write as had"
24-Apr-2011
Not a regular reviewer, but had to write as had the best day out at Peppa Pig World yesterday, DDs 3.5 & 13 months both had a great day and DH and I enjoyed ourselves as well. Big + is that no lower age restrictions on many of the rides although recommended to be above 12 months, so we could all go on as a family. Georges dinosaur ride did have a limit of minimum height of 900mm, but plenty of other rides to enjoy. (Watch front seat sitters chins on dino ride as DD1 banged her chin slightly.) We went on Easter Saturday, very hot and sunny and yet the longest we queued for any ride in PPW was 35 mins and some considerably shorter. We had trouble dragging DD1 out of PPW, but if you ventured out of that zone into the other areas of Paultons park there are plenty of other rides, with virtually non existent queues (although not many suitable for babies,) and birds and gardens etc...Food was okay and usual sort of price for theme park, but portions were ok, about £5.00 for a hot meal in station restaurant. Although plenty of places to sit for picnics if dry. As previous review mentioned bring swimming stuff/towel for wet play area in PPW and I took the baby parasol off the buggy for standing under while queing as very little shade,(not usually a problem in England!) didn't even get a chance to see in the soft play area and DD1 didn't want to go in the PP themed shop as she was enjoying the rides so much. Also got to shake hands with George and Peppa at the back of madam Gazelle's school house. All in all great day, with even usually grumpy DH stating he'd had a great day and thought it was good value for money. (Book tickets online and pre-print before hand to save a few £'s and skip one of the entry queues.)Will def. go back as still plenty to do and see and perfect for little ones usually not well catered for at these places.

"Arriving at Peppa Pig World was as close as I've"
29-Mar-2011
Arriving at Peppa Pig World was as close as I've got to a visit to the Truman Show film set. It was surreally clean and tidy, with fantastic flower beds and the only theme park I've ever been to (granted I've not been to many) with a vegetable garden in the middle of a ride.
The rides were perfect for toddler and pre-schoolers, with my eldest (4) enjoying them again and again and again. The outdoor playground has obviously been designed by Mrs Rabbit (on her days running the local council) and is fab, with lots for all ages.
Take a towel (and change of clothes) for the muddy puddle water features, or if it's raining enjoy the really, really good indoor play centre. The slides are fantastically fast (although the blue one was a little too fast for me <ouch>). The toddler section with musical features has been really thoughtfully designed and I'm not sure there is anything much posher than a pristine soft play
The food isn't great - the value is what you'd expect, but there just isn't much choice (and I imagine the queues could get really long) so I'd take a picnic.
A really fantastic day, well worth a special summer day out. Hard not to smile all the way through, but be warned you will humming Peppa Pig tunes all the way home.Read moreLess1 person found this review helpful.

"The folks from Peppa Pig World invited a few of"
29-Mar-2011
The folks from Peppa Pig World invited a few of us from MNHQ to their opening so that we could have a --nose-- look and see what was on offer and (obvs) spread the word.
If your children are fans of Peppa and George then they will enjoy Peppa Pig World. They have seven rides all of which are accessible to little ones (over 12 mths) including Windy Caste and Mrs Rabbits Helicopter ride. Peppa and George make appearances at set times throughout the day and there are large indoor and outdoor play centres.
As with most theme parks the cost of food is fairly high and the cost per person is £20 , with children under 1 metre free of charge ( My DD is two and under a metre but DS is 4 and over) But you do get a fair amount for your money and the small details such as the toilets with built in Children's seats and the very exciting 'Recycling centre' (basically loads of balls and suction pipes that my DC loved) make it worth it.
If you are looking for a full day out with your little Peppa fans, then I would definitely recommend it.Read moreLessMumsnetter RebeccaMumsnet

Went to see Santa at the weekend. You get a time slot allocated which is handy. You walk around an indoor animated grotto, which takes about 20 minutes, before you get to meet the man himself. Great presents for the kids (age related), and older kids get to have mince pies and Christmas punch after! All rides are free (even the little sit on ones you normally have to put 50p/£1 in). Things to do and see for all ages. Well worth a visit. And opening in Easter 2011 is Peppa Pig world, the only one in the world. A village and themed rides etc. Check out the website fore more info.
