Go and try the new water ride - Vortex. Great for kids (and big kids!)it has 3 tubes with light effects all different, and you choose at the top which to tackle (you go down in a little dinghy).

Our girls loved Crealy, second only to Paulton's Park on their of places they'd live in for the rest of their lives. Not the biggest selection of rides, but the nice parkland setting makes for a lovely picnic at lunchtime, and it just seems more relaxing than most parks! Decent choice on food and drinks, but no need to use them unless it rains as picnics are the order of the day!

We've been a few times, my children loved it when they were 4-6 but as they got a bit older were less keen. It's good value for money, as nearly everything is free inside the park.
Good for small children, less good for older children. a bit too manic for my taste but children like that.Read moreLessMumsnetter Fennel

Really great day, especially with toddlers and younger kids. Loads of rides, brilliant animal barn for hands on stuff and really big soft play areas indoors. Cafes in each indoor area so you can keep on eye on the kids too.
We're members, go there almost weekly now the kids love it so muchRead moreLessMumsnetter westcountrymum

"Dear Blackrock, So sorry you didn't like Crealy when you…"
23-Apr-2009
Dear Blackrock,
So sorry you didn't like Crealy when you visited. I am really surprised by your review, which is very untypical. I can only think that because you visited in our winter season, maybe we were busy building and maintaining the Park so it wasn't looking its best (the winter price is reduce to reflect this). Please do come back again so you can visit all of the rides and adventures - the Loco Coaster, Tidal Wave log flume, Dino Blaster boats, Vintage Carousel, Prairie Train, the huge entertainment centre at the top of the Park with the Adventure Zone, Animal Farm, Dina's Lost World including the new Go WILD! etc etc.
As a family business with five children myself, we are very conscious of the need to provide outstanding value for money, and are confident that Crealy does give the very best value for money of all attractions.
New attractions this year (which maybe we were building when you visited, sorry) include: Go WILD! Canopy adventure play area in Dina's Lost world - Pirates' Revenge swashbuckling adventure play area opening 15th May 2009 - Crealy Bear and the Pirates Theatre Show - Dina's Animal Showtime - more trees planted (we'll be carbon neutral by 2010)- improved hospitality (catering - and 70% of our suppliers are local - although we do burgers and chips they are Exmoor beef burgers and British chips - plus we do local jacket potatoes, pasta, salads, wraps + Fairtrade coffees, teas, chocolates...) Also to celebrate 20 years we are giving free Return Wristbands - return free for up to 7 days when you wear a wristband. We usually get lots of compliments about our staff - only the best staff make it as our Rangers as we only hire the top 25% of applicants and invest heavily in training, developing and looking after our staff so that they look after you brilliantly: our Rangers are famous!
Yes, there are optional extra charges inside the Park because they are just that - optional. All of our additional options have limited capacity so cannot be used by all guests - so it is fairer to offer them on a "pay to play" basis to the people who want to use them.
I am so sorry that you did not have a completely enjoyable time when you visited and do hope that you choose to come back again, and next time experience the maximum fun for which Crealy is famous.
Sorry to answer in such length. Hope you find this helpful?
With kind regards,
Angela Wright, Founder, Crealy Great Adventure ParksRead moreLessMumsnetter blondeinspirit

We have now bought yearly passes as this is so good. Our two year old loves it as there is so much to do. She especially loves the animals in the barn.

a nice theme park, although not of the standard of alton towers etc, or those nearer to London. but, it was a great day out and not to far to travel,( which is usually a nightmare with kids) if you live in the west country.

19-Mar-2009
We loved this park, we went in 2007 and again in 2008. It's great, even for the younger ones with great rides and animals and play areas, a really fin packed day at a resonable cost. The cafe gets really, really busy and it's mainly junk food, so the second year that we were there we took a picnic, the picnic facilities are great and they even provide microwaves (if you so desire to use one)

19-Mar-2009
Run down, old hat, expensive even after an entry fee, not well run: my small child was knocked over in the indoor play by some teenagers who jumped on top of him, despite the advert for rangers and a height guide. No staff to be seen, and the food available was just burgers and chips. Elsewhere net time and never to return.

Great place, with a variety of things to do - farm, rides, walk along the river, large indoor play area (adjacent to the cafe so the kids can play while you get the food), sandpit, a small-scale play village with houses that only a child could fit into.
My 4 year old son was able to go on all the 'big' rides. He's slightly timid, but was not overwhelmed by any of them!
We went on a Saturday in summer, expecting great queues, but were pleasantly surprised, just a few minutes wait for the more popular rides, nothing like the Legoland experience. The grounds are a good size, but not so large that you get tired walking around finding the selected attractions that are of interest to your kids.Read moreLess"Fantastic if you like crowds and enjoy having to keep…"

Fantastic if you like crowds and enjoy having to keep your eye on your young child the whole time you are there. Take a packed lunch as you are going to have to queue up at the cafe. My toddler loved it, I found it noisy, crowded and incredibly stressful! If you have an under 5, may I recommend the Miniature Pony Centre at Moretonhampstead instead?

We took my 2 year old and absolutely loved it. It's so nice to go to a theme park which is geared to the under 12s. Our daughter especially loved all the dufferent play areas and the animals. I would thoroughly recommend it - particularly to anyone with children under 10.

I have been here twice with my family. My DD was 7 last time we visited and said it was the best day of her life! We liked it because it has something for everyone, from the little ones (animals and a soft play type indoor barn) to go-karts and scarier rides for older children.

This park is extremely popular with most of the under 12s I know. As well as rides, large indoor soft play areas and activities to suit all children it has a riverside walk, farm, and pony rides.
