"I really wasn't expecting to enjoy this, but we had"
27-Jul-2010
I really wasn't expecting to enjoy this, but we had a great day out! We stayed at a little b&b nearby, which had clean, well-presented rooms, good breakfast for a reasonable price.
http://www.seaforth-blackpool.co.uk/ There was a wide variety of rides, though probably best for the thrill-seeker age group. We went on May Bank Holiday weekend, but it was not too crowded at all - the queues were nothing compared to Alton Towers. Food was pricey and fairly poor quality - as you might expect. But it didn't stop our enjoyment of a great day out. Very good deal for Pleasure Beach tickets through Tesco Clubcard Deals.Read moreLessMumsnetter roisin

"It was fantastic. We stayed in the Big Blue Hotel"
06-Jul-2010
It was fantastic. We stayed in the Big Blue Hotel just outside the Pleasure Beach. We got a good deal with dinner, bed and breakfast. The family room was brilliant. It had magnetic giant snakes and ladders and tvs at the ends of the bunk beds. The food was lovely and my DDs age 5 and 8 lovely the Big Blue cocktail. We booked tickets in advance for the park and took a picnic to save on eating costs. We were there for a full day (the weather was great). The kids park was great - my DDs went on the rollercoster 27 times - no kidding!!! Have fun.

"we went on a wet weekday which was good -"
05-Nov-2009
we went on a wet weekday which was good - it wasn't busy so no queues for rides. Unfortunately it meant some rides were shut ie the pepsi max cos too windy.
Had a great day out - food was "basic" but that was expected - but good variety of rides and good extreme rides.
We enjoyed ourselves :)Read moreLessMumsnetter choochoochaboogie

"The new system at Blackppol Pleasure Beach is £5.00 entry"
18-Oct-2009
The new system at Blackppol Pleasure Beach is £5.00 entry with no rides or a wristband for all rides. This worked out good value for the adults / older kids, but expensive for toddlers. You can still buy tokens for Beaver Creek though. I think the new system has made the park feel less crowded as people don't want to pay the entrance fee. There is a good variety for all ages and thrill levels. We've been going to the Pleasure Beach for years and this year it really seems like the staff are making a real effort to make the experience better. The ride operators in Beaver Creek were especially good with the little ones.

"A great, fun day out. Wristbands for unlimited rides can"
25-Mar-2009
A great, fun day out. Wristbands for unlimited rides can be bought at the Pleasure Beach or cheaper online in advance. You can also buy tokens to enable you to go on just a few rides, rather than having to pay full whack for a wristband. A good family day out, suitable for all age ranges. Food is dreadful (but isn't it always at these places?). Parking nearby. You will feel like you need a shower when you get home!
