We had a great day out here. Staff are massively friendly. Many opportunities to get up close with the animals eg. holding piglets, bottle-feeding goats. Rides as well (eg. a little train), which I wasn't expecting. It is run by Christians so there are psalms dotted around the place but it is not overtly evangelical in an in-your-face way. Would definitely go back.

"Great place for a day out for the whole family.…"
18-Jun-2009
Great place for a day out for the whole family. We've been two years running with ds (at 2.4 and 3.4) and he enjoyed it both times and still talks about animals that he met - we're going again this year if all goes well. There are activities arranged throughout the day, including egg collecting, milking the goat, feeding the lambs, meeting the piglets etc, depending upon the availability and suitability of animals at the time - and there is a large barn converted to sheltered seating so even birds of prey can be flown in the dry when its raining too much outside. There are quad bikes and a maze for older children - but ds was happy to go from one organised activity to the next, and keen to stay to the very end. He also loved having a pony ride - this is the only thing that you have to book specially.
Given the number of people including lots of children and some school parties, the cafe was kept amazingly clean, and there is sensible food available to meet most needs. However, picnickers are also welcomed.Read moreLessMumsnetter mistlethrush
