"Massive place, loads to do. Put aside a whole day"
09-Nov-2009
Massive place, loads to do. Put aside a whole day as we were there for about 7 hours and still hadn't seen all of it. There's a nice little train ride (short but sweet) that goes round the park which is great for any young train fanatics.
Would definitely go back again and although pricey it seems most zoos are nowadays. We thought it was worth the entrance fee.
Agree about the giraffe enclosure, you can get up very close and personal with them.Read moreLessMumsnetter forevared

"V expensive entry for a one-off visit but if you"
10-Aug-2009
V expensive entry for a one-off visit but if you live near, annual passes are great value. You can also buy an insulated cup for £20 that gets you unlimited hot drinks when you take it to one of the cafes. Cafes are good but expensive too but lots of great spots for a picnic and the playgrounds are brilliant. If you take a short cut after the tigers there is much fun to be had rolling down the hill behind the lovely Marwell House. Oh and the animals are nice too :-)

"A wildlife park rather than a zoo, big enclosures etc."
09-Aug-2009
A wildlife park rather than a zoo, big enclosures etc. and a really good day out (not much shelter on rainy days though). Play parks are great and usefully spaced throughout the park. Giraffes are big favourite and kids also love penguins and pygmy hippos.

"A really lovely zoo, loads of green space and animals"
20-Jun-2009
A really lovely zoo, loads of green space and animals kept in big fields and huge pens. Even when it's busy there is so much space that you don't feel crowded. Easy and free to park a short walk from the gates, and two trains run round the grounds so you can hop on and off when you feel tired. A few very nice cafes and restaurants and lovely play areas for the children too. Toilets always very clean too!
