"Disappointing"
07-May-2012
The animals were lovely and friendly, it is a shame the same could not be said about the staff. We felt unwelcome and bothersome, and soon escaped to Hampstead Heath.
We went to the May Festival, which was advertised as consting a nomiinal amount to come in - no where did it say all the attractions would cost a further average of £1.50 per attraction (horse ride etc, even 30p to brush a goat's coat). Fine if that's what they are doing to raise money, but it should have been made clear on their website and on their leaflets, or at the very least mentioned when I rang to clarify their details.
The lady leading the horserides was particularly surly (to some children more than others.)Read moreLessMumsnetter MrsMicawber

"My DS (2.5) loves this working farm in the middle"
04-Nov-2009
My DS (2.5) loves this working farm in the middle of a housing estate next to Hampstead Heath. There are goats, sheep, horses, cows, a pig and chickens wandering round the yard. All the animals are very friendly and you can feed and stroke them all. There is a lovely fruit and veg garden with picnic table if you want to have a packed lunch.
The farm has an indoor play room with lots of toys.
There is no entry charge but the farm is a charity and relies on donations.

Hampstead Heath and the Parliament Hill Lido are a 5 minute walk away from the farm so you can combine a visit to the farm with a trip to the fabulous "Peggy Jay" playcentre, adventure playground, swimming Lido (weather permitting!) or heath cafe. There's usually an ice rink on the Heath in Winter too!Read moreLessMumsnetter Wattinger
