"Our favourite place to go!…"
We love Drusillas so much that we now have annual passes and go two or three times a month. Its wonderful, whatever the weather. The adventure playgrounds are excellent, toilet and changing facilities great, and Amazon Adventure is the best soft play area I've been to-great on a rainy day.
I cannot praise the team at Drusillas highly enough. They are, without exception, all so friendly, and helpful.
My daughter loves the Thomas train ride and is VERY excited about the new Hello Kitty rides opening in 2014.Read moreLess
"Fantastic Day Out, cant wait to go again…"
Took my son there for his 8th birthday with his younger 5 year old sister. They both had a fantastic day. It was in November and pouring with rain but they still made the best of it as there is also alot to do inside. Could still see every single animal there, not like other places. Cannot wait to go again (maybe for my own birthday)Read moreLess
"Brilliant for kids, good day out…"
My son is 2 year old & we both have annual passes to Drusillas as its such an easy & fun day out. On a simplistic level it's very well laid out & it's a safe place to let a toddler who has just started walking just roam as there's pretty much just one route all the way around. The range of monkeys make for fun animals for a young child too & you can see most up quite close. The parakeet enclosure is a must & for £1 you can get a pot of nectar to feed the birds which kids love doing.
If I had to suggest any improvements it would be to have a picnic area around e.g. where the Bertie Bus/toilet/James train is as there's lots of seating towards the end of the zoo but for young children wanting to have a rest & snack half way there isn't much more than a couple benches. The cafe itself is very good & the playgrounds are brilliant. The soft play on rainy days gets absolutely mobbed & it's difficult to watch young children in there but the outside equipment has been done very well to cater for all ages. The range of animals is also very good & certainly different to what you'd expect. The activity booklet & the stamp booklet are real winners as children of all ages (& adults!) love to collect stamps as they go around spotting certain animals. Remember to pick one up at the very beginning where the mice are & before the python! All in all a great day out. We've been so many times my son loves just running around & we can have a quick afternoon visit to the zoo for a couple hours as well a make more of a day of it in the summer with the paddling pool. The character visits are also good, perhaps more CBeebies characters for the younger children during term time would be good as well as term time activities for pre-schoolers as we'd certainly cone down more for those. A brilliant zoo!Read moreLess

We love Drusillas. We try to avoid school holidays as it can get very busy especially in the play areas. On a hot day take swim stuff and towels for the kids as they have a paddling pool / water play area. It is a whole day out and there's enough to keep you busy all day. We save our Tesco vouchers to use as otherwise it's aroundRead moreLess

Very well thought out zoo with lots of side attractions and buttons to press. The zoo area has well looked after animals with lots of child friendly information. We were very impressed with the cow model that you can actually milk.Read moreLess

Had a lovely time at Drusillas with the family recently. A nice array of animals to see and friendly staff.
On the down side - the front entrence is very congested. After you pay to get in there are animals on view straight away. So no sooner have you got in then everything is at a standstill while people view the animals. It would be better to have a free area where people can decide which direction they want to go - rather than getting stuck in a bottle-neck.
My biggest issue was everyone over the age of 2 (yes 2) gets charged adult price. Perhaps everyone over the age of 11, they could even get away with 6 - but 2 seems a bit of a con to me.Read moreLess

I love this place, it's a perfect day out for young children, parents and even grandparents. There are lots of animals, an adventure playground outside if it's sunny, a large soft play inside in case it rains, everything is set out on a path so that little legs don't get too tired, there are also interactive exhibits (i.e. lots of buttons to press) if your kids don't really get excited about animals yet and tasty cheap food (toasties forRead moreLess

great little zoo. my kids noe 9 & 10, still enjoy it!good selection of small to mid size animals. trail stuff to keep busy ,liked the new lemur enclosure. just enough walking before you get to the play area which is now very big. it's almost too successful now. my kids disappointed with train now, it's definitely slower, don't bother queuing if your kids are older than 7. it's a good full day. (a picnic is a good idea if you don't mind carrying it), it takes quite a while to reach the food areas, & lots of kids seem to lose it well before then.Read moreLess

"Fantastic childrens park/zoo suitable for a wide range of ages.…"
Fantastic childrens park/zoo suitable for a wide range of ages. My daughter is not yet two but enjoyed it - as did we. She especially loved the full size Thomas the Tank train ride! The play park area (suitably arranged for different age groups) made me wish I was a kid again and it has a fab picnic area with paddling pool for toddlers. Lots of interactive bits and 'Mokomo's Jungle Rock' (animatronic singing exhibit)is almost worth the entry fee alone! Entry is not cheap, but I think you get your money's worth. We took our own picnic to keep the cost down so I can't comment on the food (hence the 8)- but the facilities were great.Well worth a visit and if we lived nearer I would get annual membership and visit regularly.Read moreLess
