"Was a nice smaller zoo which felt relaxing and eay"
06-Jul-2010
Was a nice smaller zoo which felt relaxing and eay to walk around. not so big that you felt you had to come back the next day and not too small that you felt you had paid for something you didn't get. I LOVED the red pandas - I have never seen them so well before and it really made my day! Had a lovely time. Oh and just to say - I always expect the food to be over priced rubbish at these places to be honest - it was ok, we had a sandwhich but would prb take own food next time - but then I went for the zoo not the food!

"What a fantastic place to visit! I've visited Blackpool on"

What a fantastic place to visit!
I've visited Blackpool on many occaisons but never knew it had such a great attraction, miles removed from the standard tacky fayre. This is a huge zoo with gorilla's, monkeys, lions and tigers (including cubs!), elephants, giraffes, seals and many more. Each enclosure is very well planned and set out and there are feeding times for many different animals at several points throughout the day where the keepers also talk about the species and how they live and the care they need, including any conservation work. My 22 month old daughter ahd an absolutley fabulous day and ran around shouting 'more animals' all day. I'm definitley planning on taking her back every year to watch the animals grow. I recommend this zoo to everyone, especially great for the North of England mumsnet family as it's very easy and quick to get to.Read moreLess2 people found this review helpful.
