"We also liked Africa Alive and I would second everything"
12-Feb-2011
We also liked Africa Alive and I would second everything said, but I would also like to add that although there is a soft play area, this costs extra and as it was quite expensive anyway we thought this was a bit mean.

"Africa Alive is the sister park of Banham Zoo and"
19-Jul-2009
Africa Alive is the sister park of Banham Zoo and Dinosaur Adventure Park. It is a large park and for small children a buggy is a must.
There are lots of animals to see from Cheetahs to anteaters! There is also a road train which tours the park but queues for this can get lengthy, especially during Summer holidays.
The food is variable - a lot of people enjoy the chips and pasties which can easily be found, but you can find sandwiches and cakes if you seek them out! There are also numerous picnic tables should you prefer to opt for a picnic.
There is a nice playground which children enjoy. Unfortunately this is right next to the entrance so getting them away from it can be a challenge!
Overall not a bad day out but very expensive for a one-off visit. Much better value when buying a season ticket, if you are local.Read moreLessMumsnetter Hooitt
