All too often, we think that treating our children to the perfect family day out means lots of money and expense. But I would like to tell you about a day out that children will love and cherish the memory of, and, best of all it is free (perhaps with the exception of an ice cream!)
Bodafon Farm Park in Llandudno, is a hidden gem situated at the end of the crescent shaped promenade, towards Craig y Don. Admission is free, and the farm is very family friendly with lots of animals that will win your heart, from donkeys, ponies goats, cows, deer, rabbits, and at this time of year, there are lambs and calves too – who love being fed! There are lots of birds including ducks, owls and a range of birds of prey. The farm is accessible to all, and there’s a ramp for wheelchairs. It does have a café, if you want to eat there – or you could bring your own picnic to save the pennies.
When you’ve been round the farm, you’re just seconds away from the sandy beach which is just opposite – so you and the little ones could head over there for some sandcastle building and paddling. The views are stunning too, because Llandudno is situated between the Great Orme and the Little Orme, and the sandy beach stretches for a few miles in between. The whole family will enjoy the day!
