"Fab place - plenty of outdoor activities…"
29-Jul-2012
Top marks for this place. The woodland walk searching for wooden play structures in the form of animals and insects if amazing. Very interesting for kids and this keeps the kids entertained whilst getting lots of exercise. The woodland walkway through the trees at the end of the trail is worth it. The play park areas are very good. We make the little train journey nearby a special treat. Very popular place and a really lovely full day place. From memory you pay for parking only and the train.

"Great day out - with lots to do…"
23-Jul-2012
We took our 5 year old for a day out to Moors Valley Country Park earlier this year. Despite the drizzle we found that there was lots to do.
We hired bikes and cycled 4-5 miles around the forest - they have cycle routes with levels of difficulty marked on them. That was great fun and there's loads for kids to explore.
The adventure playground is excellent and the Moors Valley Steam Railway, although pretty basic as railways go, is also worth a journey. The park also contains a Go Ape - which looked like fun though is perhaps better suited to slightly older kids.
What really surprised me was the quality of food available at lunchtime - healthy and delicious, not what you expect from such attractions usually.
We stayed at nearby Merley Court Holiday Park - in a newly-refurbished cabin. It was lovely - as you can see from the photos the decor was to a high standard and it was in a great location for exploring much of what Dorset has to offer.Read moreLessMumsnetter SueMumsnet
