"So much to see. Highly recommended…"
Went last April for DS2 Birthday. It's a really well-organised place - staggered entry times so it didn't feel too crowded (we were there at 5pm which I'd recommend). We didn't go on any of the interactive attractions but the visit was no poorer for that. The DCs ran around spotting things - there's nothing plasticcy there are real works of art. I loved the costumes, the kids loved the Night Bus, Diagon Alley and the Creature Shop. It's just so interesting - inspiring actually to see the range and depth of skill that goes into making a film from conception to release. I could go on and on about how good it was. I recommend for children 8 and up.
The shop is amazing - you could buy a whole school uniform if you wanted - and madly expensive but we ended up with a wand and a fridge magnet. If you loved the films, go.Read moreLess
"What a magical day…"
Fabulous day out for HP fans (and those those who are interested in the process of film making)
Seeing the actual sets and and night bus was fantastic and learning some of the tricks used to make everything is fascinating. The making of the castle is amazing. Staff were very helpful and very knowledgeable(they have my idea of a perfect job). The Gentleman in the 'wand room' knew where every named box was. Food was available but cheaper to take your own (although you would have to carry it around with you) Hot dogs were £4.95 (in September 2013) but they were large sausages. Try the butter beer it is delicious. Spent 7 hours in there but could easily have spent longer. younger children who dont want to read everything may be happy to leave before then. Didnt have a go at the broom ride due to a very long queue - I thought this was pricey - 4 photos were approx £40. Having said that compared to other venues/attraction the entrance fee is good value for money. Gift shop is expensive but this doesnt seem to put many people off. Chocolate frogs and every flavour beans are approx £8. My family had a fabulous day.Read moreLess
"Fantastic day out for Harry Potter Fans…"
We has a great day at the Warner Bros Studios..took our son, age 9, for his birthday- he absolutely loved it. Also had 6 year old daughter with us-she was wowed by it all as is really into the books.
Their dad has been reading each book to them both before watching the films- be warned that if you are doing the same that they do give away some secrets....luckily our son only picked up on one thing but my husband picked up a few which he felt a bit disappointed about but it didn't spoil the day.
Few tips that I would recommend
- no need to hire head sets as our age kids didn't use them
- take packed lunch as not much food there and quite expensive
- be warned shop is over priced so my son wanted to spend his £25 birthday money on a Valdermort Wand (made in china)- he insisted in the end....hardly played with it since!
-if it's your child's birthday go to the front of the first film showing and walk up to the front of the queue to enter the Great Hall- they asked if it was anyone's birthday and our son got to open the door with another girl.
All in all a great experience, staff great, very few queues and worth the money- enjoy!!Read moreLess
"Fantastic - but beware of the prices in the shop…"
We had a magical afternoon, dcs are 8 and 6 and thoroughly enjoyed every minute, as did I. Both said that this was "the best day ever"! A must if you are a Harry Potter fan.
The only let down is the shop at the end. Totally overpriced - jelly beans for £9, mugs £11, robes £75! Butter beer in the outdoor cafe is a bargain at £3 for a very small cup.Read moreLess
"Great for Harry Potter fans…"
If you're kids (or you!) are Harry Potter fans this is a great experience. The main attraction is seeing 'in the flesh' all the sets, costumes, props etc from the films - including the Knight Bus, Hagrid's Hut, Diagon Alley and an amazing 1:24 scale model of Hogwarts that was used for exterior shots in the films. Beyond that, there's not a lot to doRead moreLess
