"Fantastic, loved it!…"
We took our 2 boys (aged 4 and 2) and didn't really know what to expect. It's just a place full of really odd stuff! Some of it might be a bit scary for smaller children, although both of ours seemed to love it. I suspect the first time you visit is the best, since it's all new. We're going back in a few weeks, so we shall see if it's as enjoyable when you know what's in store. I would say that some of it is a bit treacherous (access wise) for people with very young children. Some of it isn't accessible with a pram and there are a few bits where you would need to keep a close eye on the more adventurous toddler (steep stairs and high points). Absolutely brilliant - what a find! It really is a great, family day out. I had 2 x 6 year olds and a 2 year old. There is quite alot of walking / exploring to do that is not suitable with a buggy so unless your toddler is good at walking (mine is), you might find it difficult.
Lots of secret paths, scary surprises, water feature surprises, hidden treasures etc that are just fabulous for children to explore. My 6 year olds were so excited.
Lots of picnic tables in the woods but the cae looked very nice and seemed to offer reasonably priced decent food (jacket pototaoes / paninis / cakes etc).
