"Brilliant views of London…"
We took our family to London. We went to the Eye and did the 4d film before hand. The kids thought this was amazing. It was a very short 3d film where all sorts happened from bubbles, which you could see coming out of the screen to real bubbles popping on your skin! This is what made it 4d. They queue for the eye looked really big but moved pretty quickly. We were soon on the eye iteself. Now it doesn't actually stop, but moves slowly, so you just sort of hop on! A slow rise to a birdseye view of London is what you will get. Make sure the day is clear so you get to see all you can. We had a cracking day and could see for miles. Kids thought it was amazing to see it all look so tiny! Worth it, though maybe not for very young children.Read moreLess
"I have to start this review by saying that I…"
I have to start this review by saying that I am terrified of heights and am a Londoner born and bred so why would I go anywhere near the London Eye? Well my daughter who is eight has been asking for ages and ages to go so for her birthday we went.
Armed with advice from the nice man at the gate who said "don't look down" I stepped into our pod.
It was absolutely and completely amazing I loved it. At no point was I scared (though I didn't look down) and it was brilliant to have a birds eye view of all the familiar landmarks. So, tourist or not, I'd recommend it.
If you are taking children I'd suggest from aged 5 onwards
ENJOY !Read moreLess

An unforgettable experience. If you've been before, you'll want to go again. Great views of the capital and surrounding area if you get a good day. Do shop around for money-saving offers though, as there are plenty about and it's expensive if you pay full whack. I'm scared of heights and I wasn't worried at all about going on here.Read moreLess

In a word: Sound!
Took my 5 year old on this, having been on the Manchester Wheel: it was a great introduction to t'smoke. Get there early & you won't have to que; use a Merlin entertainment pass you can get with your Tesco vouchers to ride for free. If there is a que then it is best to split into two groups - one ques & the other uses the great nearby adventure playground or picnic on the grass
The ride itself is good: the modules never stop so there is the fun of getting on a moving object. It is not worth sitting down - go & explore all around & find out what you can see. Remember when pointing things out people shorter than you have a different perspective (& angle to look at). You can see Big Ben, Parliament, Buckingham Palace, Horse Guards Parade, The City, Post Office Tower, Green Park, the bridges (including Tower Bridge), the Gerkin, lots of trains & buses. As the module nears the end remember to pose for the photo (although it is not worth buying, but the kids will love to see it)
If you are posing for snaps accept that they won't feature too much in the background, plus get a strange to take the shot of you all (they can hardly run away with your camera!)
Afterwards you have the walk on the South Bank or catch a ferry along the riverRead moreLess
