"Poor value for money. We arrived at lunchtime, and expected…"
Poor value for money.
We arrived at lunchtime, and expected to have lunch in one of the 2 cafes mentioned on their website. Sadly both were closed, and the cabin by the adventure playground had sold out of sandwiches.
The entrance price is on the steep side, particularly when you factor in the lack of facilities. Still, the adventure playground looked fun, although with a 3 year old and a 1 year old, there wasn't much to keep them entertained. Those over 8 would be very happy with the playground, I suspect.
The sculpture trail looks worth a look, although due to 2 hungry children we made our way out of the grounds and over to the attached farm shop, which is part of the Hall. The cafe there was packed out with disgruntled punters looking for food so we called it a day.
The house itself looks wonderful and I'd love to return, though I'll wait for a sunny day and be sure to take a picnic!Read moreLess
