"Enchanted Palace at Kensington Palace: The Enchanted Palace interactive experience…"
27-Apr-2010
Enchanted Palace at Kensington Palace:
The Enchanted Palace interactive experience at Kensington Palace is a wonderful way of bringing a stately home to life for children (and adults). Cornish theatre company Wildworks have seconded a group of actors to bring the stories behind seven princesses who lived at the palace to life. Children are giving a magic map, requiring them to discover the names of the princesses, which they'll find by looking at clues, quizzing the staff and talking to the actors. I thought this was extraordinarily well done - inventive, fun and beautiful to look at. The stories of the royal women who lived here turned a dusty palace into somewhere real for my daughter and she loved the seven gowns designed by everyone from Vivienne Westwood to William Tempest. We spent a good hour and a half going through the exhibition (avoiding the obligatory party of uninterested French teenagers powering their way through). It's on until 30 June, so try and see it if you're in London or heading there during the half term.Read moreLessMumsnetter CatherineHMumsnet
