"Beautiful setting, loads for the kids to do…"
We have had 4 trips to Groombridge Place and it just keeps getting better. There is a canal boat ride (which you can take buggies on... yes, even huge ones!) which all kids and probably the parents too absolutely love. From the end of the canal boat ride you walk round the "Enchanted Forest" full of magic and adventure which will delight all ages of children, and with zipwires, rope bridges, tunnels and giant swings you are almost guaranteed that the kids will wear themselves out. All this within stunning grounds with formal gardens bursting with flowers and waterfalls for all to enjoy. You may even spot a koi carp or two. If there is a downside, it would be that it is very much an outdoor activity and although there is a great cafe and gift shop to shelter in, you really need a sunny day to fully appreciate Groombridge Place. I used to visit before I had my son and love it as much as he does. There is something for all ages here. Having said that, although you can still have a very enjoyable day with a baby in a buggy, not all the paths are easy to take with a buggy or wheelchair so you may miss out on a few things or end up exhausted from pushing the buggy up some of the steeper paths. Really one not to be missed. Look out for special events in the school holidays, these are usually at no additional charge.Read moreLess
