Plymouth Aquarium

Love it - we go regularly when visiting family in Devon. Big tanks are great, esp the sand tigers, staff are generally knowledgable. Not much that is hands on - but lovely for staring. Get there as early as you can to have the place to yourself - & to get your money's worth (it ain't cheap)

Well, I quite like it, but find there is not that much going on there, guess I have been at the wrong time, or been too often and DD is only 4 so some of the stuff for older kids she is not interested in yet. I have annual membership though (local) so find it good to nip in and walk around for half hour, stare at the sharks and the stingray then off for a coffee and DD plays in the ball pool. If I travelled a long way to go, would be a bit disappointed, especially given how much it costs (if not a member)

We have been to various excellent aquariums Lisbon Portugal, Nauticaa in Boulogne and I would put the Plymouth aquarium among these!! The London one is well 'naff' in comparison! We visit Plymouth Aquarium every time we are down that way as it is so good and the kids or us never get bored of going! We normally take a picnic hence not rated the food.

An excellent day out for all ages. All my children enjoyed this aquarium, including the craft room where they spent a happy hour making fishy pictures. The sharks and the giant squid were very popular. Cafe with soft play overlooking the harbour was good too.
