"My ds has 4 or 5 of the Little Red…"
My ds has 4 or 5 of the Little Red Train books and never tires of them. I agree that they are beautifully illustrated too and he enjoys discussing the pictures as much as listening to the stories. Also makes a much welcome change from Thomas (for me anyway!).Read moreLess

We built up a good collection of Little Red Train books as my son loves trains. These books are so much more than your usual picture book. The detail in the pictures results in even more stories being imagined and invented.Read moreLess

"My daughter was given one of the Little Red Train…"
My daughter was given one of the Little Red Train books when she was 2 and it was an instant hit. The illustrations are absolutely wonderful. There is so much going on in each picture. As well as the lovely story to read we always spend ages looking at each picture and talking about all the things we can see. Every time we read it we find something new to look at.Read moreLess

"All the books in this series are great, so it…"
All the books in this series are great, so it is pointless recommending just one title - they are all equally good and reliable. They probably won't suit "girly" children but they are ideal for children who like technical things, lots of detail and dioramas. They contain so much to talk about. The illustrator loves drawing all kinds of complicated things and offers big panoramas showing the places the little Red Train runs through on his adventures. The stories are quite interesting - the Little Red Train and his driver have a race with a big nasty train in one book, and in another book they accidentally go through the Channel Tunnel and tour the continent. The books are a delight for adults and children and you can really talk about the things in the pictures for hours.Read moreLess
