Green Eggs and Ham is a favourite here. The rhyming words help the story to flow well and as a result, my children know the story. Dr Seuss books are great for children who are learning to read. Another great book that's perfect for pre-schoolers. The rhyming text is wonderful. My daughter thinks it's so funny and she loves joining in as we read it. The words are simple and repeated enough that it's very easy for her to join in so she is learning to read the words herself. Great for teaching about rhyming too. The nonsense ideas are loved by children and the illustrations are classic Dr Seuss - hilarious creatures that children love. This book has been read many many times in our house.Read moreLess

"Another classic from Dr Seuss - everyone in our house quotes from this book - I'm sure our kids will remember the text into adulthood."Read moreLess

Absolutely brilliant. Apparently it only has a 50-word vocabulary, so it is a joy to read. I read it to my son when he was just over 2 years old and he was very taken with the rhyming. The other original Dr Suess books are equally good, such as Cat in the Hat, or Horton Hears a Who.Read moreLess
