My Son who turned 5yrs in August was given this book as a present for his birthday. He loves this book. Enjoys it so much as its pretty cheeky and has him in stitches. I also like the attention paid to all the little details which makes it more interesting. If you want humour in books - Dirty Bertie the disobedient, smelly dog is the one !Read moreLess

My kids all enjoy this, it's cheeky and fun. We like the illustrations with funny little details to notice and talk about. We want a dog like Bertie's. Also there's a series of dirty Bertie books for older kids which we love too.Read moreLess

My nearly 3 yr old LOVES Dirty Bertie. She also loves shouting NO BERTIE, THATS DIRTY BERTIE. It is a cheeky book which is a breath of fresh air in so many kids books that can be a bit 'politically correct' and cutesy.Read moreLess

Hilarious. This boy is so rude it had all of us in stitches. The whole book is about Berties family smelling nasty whiffs all over the house and it is always blamed on the dog - but it isn't always the dog's fault! For a family that loves 'toilet humour' it is great!Read moreLess

So when it came to Horrid Henry, we'd been there, done that, worn the T shirt...then we found Dirty Bertie. Admittedly, they are very similar (and not as good as Horrid Henry in my opinion) but that doesn't seem to bother my 7 year old. He loves these books, particularly the tales involving Whiffer, the smelly, flea ridden, disobedient dog. Again, good for reading alone with chapter books and expression.Read moreLess

My children love this book and we read it over and over again. Bertie is a really funny character and has some disgusting habits which children will love (picking his nose, weeing on the flowerbeds and eating sweets off the floor). Will he ever kick his dirty habits? My children love shouting out 'No Bertie! That's dirty Bertie!' as his family say to him.
Great illustrations too of all Bertie's family especially his Nan.Read moreLess
