"We read this before we started watching the TV series.…"
We read this before we started watching the TV series. My then 2 year old daughter thought that Lola was wonderful and wanted me to read this again and again. The illustrations are wonderful and I love the way Lola talks - just like a little girl. We still read it a lot now, nearly 2 years after we first bought it and it's still one of my daughter's favourites. She will be starting school soon, so this will be perfect for introducing her to some of the things she will do at school, and also for showing her that it's OK to be nervous.Read moreLess

"The story deals with Lola's fears sensitively and sure enough all's well in the end." "The collage-style illustartions and swirling text are of added interest and my daughter enjoyed following the line of words with her finger as we read."Read moreLess

We love Lola and Charlie and Lola's imaginary friend Soren Lorensen (look for him on pages where he's mentioned - tip - hold the book to the light and you'll spot him). The illustrations are beautiful and the prose lovely to read out loud - witty and charming, a wonderful way to address your little one's anxieties about starting school.Read moreLess
