I found this book really useful for my children once they were of school age (4+).

It is practical and has only enough theory to make sense of the practical advice. It is also realistic and the advice can be used in real family situations. I also liked the fact is written in English rather than American.

I think the reason it worked for us was that it is really positive in both its theory and practice. I noticed the difference in family life immediately.

The key points relate to "Descriptive Praise", "Reflective Listening" and "Preparing for Success" and it then ggoes on the "Rewards and Consequences".

I found the ideas on being organised helpful

This is the only parenting book that has worked for me. Calm, sensible, not too much information but very intelligently structured and thought out.
