Im a huge fan of Marian Keyes, i loved her earlier books, but This charming man was big disappointment. It lacked usual humours, light hearted story she delievered in her other books. I understand she tired to write politically correct book, tackling abusive relationship, but for some reason it did not worked out well. Hope her next book is better read.

I never ever read this sort of book but it was brilliant in the first month after my baby was born. It is engaging, funny, sufficiently compelling to keep reading but most of all EASY. The last thing you need when you're reading whilst feeding and trying to keep awake is something that isn't 100% easy and entertaining and this fit the bill perfectly.

I'm not usually into 'chick-lit' but I thought this was really fab. It's easy to read but deals effectively with some uncomfortable issues. There are some really hilarious moments in it too. I think the thing that I liked most, however was that, unlike some books I've read this year (apparently 'worthier' books that have won awards etc), I truly cared about the characters when I had finished reading. I wish that happened more often!

I was really looking forward to this as I love this author but...disappointing. Not as funny as her others and the font (which changes for each character) drove me insane - a bit like reading by numbers. not my best book of the year, sorry Marian-lovers.

Having being a fan of Marian Keyes since reading Rachel's Holiday, I was on the edge of my seat knowing that this book was coming out.
I purchased the book the week it was out, and finished within two days, as Marian's writing style is so addictive. Really well developed characters, who make you read more because you are dying to find out what happens to them.
This book has a serious theme, as do many of the authors book, but very well tackled.
