Brilliant light read, very funny and very moving in places. Lots of little stories about his life through food very refreshing and enjoyable to read from the first page. As a boy he never saw butter without crumbs in it and his mum burnt the toast every morning. As a boy he was fascinated by tastes and was determined to one day taste good food. Nigel Slater writes a column for the guardian and his passion for food shines through in this book you are there with him tasting the Baked Alaska and smelling the toast from the Aga.
This book is not just about food it's a very moving and hard to put down read of an endearing little boy growing up.Read moreLessMumsnetter pinktree
