Tipping the Velvet Sarah Walters

This is a great read - a fun romp with lesbians, theatre, and an honest coming-of-age too. (By the way it's Sarah Waters, not Walters, if you're looking for it). There was a TV series of it too, I think.

Well-written novel that seamlessly incorporates the historical research into a passionate, colourful and often arresting story. The author is the best at what she does--slightly subversive, lesbian fiction.
