Love and other impossible pursuits Ayelet Waldman

This is about a woman struggling to love her stepson after she loses her own child.

I found the writing very clunky (if that is a word??) and disjointed. I have no empathy for any of the characters much except for the step son who appears to have aspergers (not finished the book yet!).

I like the concept, but it is a let down by the style.
