"Gaudy cover was a bit off putting…"
Was quite a funny book. Very easy to pick up from here you left off.Read moreLess
"Good page turner…"
This is an nice easy read - I demolished it in one day! Whilst the partnership of Ben and Katy is not altogether believable the book is very funny with some good insights into relationships and having kids.Read moreLess
"You can't read it in front of your kids!…"
Was lucky enough to receive a copy through the post - thank you Mumsnet! Firstly the use of the word SEX in 6 inch letters on the front cover meant I couldn't read it in the same room as my kids, they were SO grossed out!
Once you get that, the story line itself was a bit weak but beautifully written, I felt empathy with the character and there were places where I laughed out loud.
A great light read, especially when you're pregnant or a new Mum.Read moreLess
"Funny and easy to read...…"
Delighted to receive in the post. Don't get as much time as I'd like to read but this was easy to read at bedtimes and kept me interested. I really wanted to know what happened to Katy and the "two dads". Definitely recommend as an easy holiday/bedtime read.Read moreLess
Received through the post thanks and picked up straight away, the cover is simplistic, mother in law raised her eyebrows wondering what it was. A very easy read in a few short sittings. A story with funny lines which made me giggle just what was needed after a mundane day.Read moreLess
"Easy to read…"
Received this book through the post (thank you) and started reading it a few days later. I read this book in a few sittings. The storyline is easy to follow and whilst it's entertaining it's not quite riveting enough to keep you wanting "just one more chapter then I'll go to sleep"Read moreLess
"Easy read, it gets better, keep with it.…"
To start with I really disliked the cover. It is not a book I would pick up normally. It looked cheap and trashy.
The first few chapters were a struggle, but after that it gathered pace and was funny and a good read. Yes it's all pretty unbelievable, and it did make me feel old. But I loved the gay best friend Daniel. He was the star of the show.
Overall a good light read. Ideal for a sun lounger where life isn't taken too seriously.Read moreLess
"Really easy read…"
I really enjoyed this and read it in three sessions. Whilst the overall situation left a bit of a bad taste in my mouth, the easy flowing style of writing and the mostly likeable characters made them a bit more worthy. I really wanted to know that Katy made the right choice in the end, which she did.Read moreLess
"Funny, funny, funny…"
I was very grateful to receive this book in the post from Mumsnet and I absolutely loved it the authors wry sense of humour came through on every line. The scenario would be quite a traumatic one if it ever befell one of us but the serious pickle this lady got herself in was seriously funny. My favourite character was the central characters friend at the ad agency where she works. The witty gay man friend character has been done to death on TV, films and books, can almost seem a charicature so I was surprised that this character actually seemed fresh and a real individual, funny always but not a recycled stereotype. Also it had the sort of ending I so love but unless you already know me you'll have to read it to find out what kind that is!.Read moreLess
