"Dreadful... I found this to be a tedious and often patronising…"
I found this to be a tedious and often patronising read, yes it's a sad story and a subject matter that we often would rather not deal with. However the author goes into far too much detail about insignificant and mundane tasks.
I also found that the author often repeats herself, for instance in one section she describes a call from her social worker noting that certain forms normally required need not be submitted at that particular stage. In the following paragraph the author explains in full detail the forms in question, using almost exactly the same words with just a few more connectives to pad the text out but giving no more actual information. I found this to be the case all the way through the book - waffle simply to fill the pages but little actual 'story'.
In short this book only needed to be a third of its size.
Furthermore I object to a book having spelling mistakes/typos - clearly the publisher relied on spell checker and had not properly proof read it!!
Waste you money at your peril or watch paint dry - that's just as interesting!Read moreLess
