"An arduous read…"
18-Mar-2013
I found the closing chapers of this book the most engaging where a crescendo of action and surprises awaits the reader of this book.
Thought provoking regarding the ethics of having a sister appear to be a live donor that is relied upon to be physically called upon to serve as a humanistic commodity to serve her sisters pysiologically needs.
The book for me was a task to read initially..the chapters unfolding too slowly for me to feel engaged with the storyline that encapsulates the lives of several of the characters who are entwined in the life of the key character.
I am not drawn to read the other books by Picoult as a consequence.Read moreLess1 person found this review helpful.

This is a terrible book. The idea was great, the story good but the ending is TERRIBLE! All of Jodi Picoult's book have a twist and if you know this it is really easy to guess what it is.

This is the first Jodie Picoult book I read and I was hooked. If your sibling's life depended upon yours for survival would you willingly do all you could? Or what would you do if it was them or you? This book takes you down a path that makes you actually think what if. A brilliant read and I did shed tears at the sad twist at the end.

I loved this book so much, it had me enthralled from the first page! I have never physically cried at a book but did with this one. The twist is truly brilliant and heartbreaking. Would recommend to anyone
