It's not so much misogynistic as downright misanthropic - it's a gallery of grotesques of both sexes. It's also funny, bizarre, a joy to read and Amis' best work.

I'm sorry to disagree but I really didn't like this book. It tried to be too clever, it was misogynistic, slow and the charcters were despicable. I only finshed it as we were reading it for book club.
