"It is a wonderful story - perhaps the kindest character…"
It is a wonderful story - perhaps the kindest character to appear on the pages of a book, Prince Myshkin.
His arrival after a long period of convalescence in Switzerland stirs things up in St Petersburg. We witness his introduction to high society where his remarkable honesty and insight ensures his popularity.
His life becomes intertwined with two wonderful but cruel women. One of them is fatally damaged, the other one slightly immature.
It is a very long book, but incredibly exciting full of twists and turns and philosophical debates. It is hard to believe Dostoesky could write such a complicated, entertaining and deep story in such a haste. (He was always in a lot of debt.)
