Its one big book. I loved the pace of he few hundred pages but the middle portion was very tedious and I skipped a lot of it. Also the writer kept talking about the riots and mayhem in Lahore and yet never mentioned the bloodbath of Indian Muslims not even in passing, seeing that the book is set only 3 years after partition. Also the talk of lower caste Muslims ... There is no caste system in Islam. Otherwise a good read.Read moreLess

Excellent book. Very long though so can take a bit of time to get into but the way the different story lines emerge along with the history is done so well. Really beautiful and thoughtful read, I'll definitely read it again.Read moreLess
