Fast Food, by Gordon Ramsay

Despite the atrocious cover and man in question's usual style this was a surprisingly good and nonsense free cookery book. Based on the fast food challenge within his "F Word" programme, it's full of quick, tasty dishes that don't require a ridiculous list of ingredients and has a good selection of flavours from all over the world. There are everyday menus as well as entertaining selections such as a Thai feast, instructions are simple, with recipes grouped by theme. The common factor is though all dishes seems ridiculously simple but when put together they seem to transform to be more than just a sum of their parts. Popular dishes in this house have been the sausages with beans, sticky lemon chicken, penne with runner beans and goats cheese and baked chicken with aubergine, courgette and tomato ragout. See, hardly rocket science is it? These dishes take about 15 mins to do and are fab. I bought this book after seeing it at a friend's house and have gone on to buy it for others. If you appreciate good food but are short on time would highly recommend it.
