Simply a classic. I can't wait to read these books to my children, to relive the silliness and craziness of the world of Lewis Carroll. The poetry is wonderful (read aloud wonderful) and the characters are fantastic!

I read these two great books when I was a child but I enjoyed reading them as a teenager and now I love reading them as a grown up. My kids also love them. I think it's amazing that they were first published in 1865 and the text has never been updated but they still appeal just as much. There's something so strange and fascinating about Alice's adventures, and the book is full of riddles and strange ideas which can keep you thinking for a long time. The strange creatures that Alice meets are also very memorable. One of my kids (12) said that it was the only book she knew that was really like being a child, when life was just throwing all these things at you and you didn't know anything about them but just got through the best you could.
