"Lovely illustrations, very retro…"
This book has a lovely retro feel to it. The illustrations are just delightful to look at and the text very entertaining. A great story to illustrate to children how much their parents (and other grown ups) do for them- the fun things, as well as the normal parenting tasks, and prompted some interesting discussions with my children.Read moreLess
"An enjoyable read!!…"
A bright and cheery picture book, printed on pristine quality paper reminiscent of papyrus.
Though incorporating a common theme, i.e. the relationship between parents and their kids, and/or adults & children in general, the book goes against the grain somewhat and places the focus on parents for a change.
Sarah Ogilvie's colourful illustrations perfectly complement Peter Bently's text. The prose is well-thought out, humorous and poignant. Reading this out aloud in Key Stage 1 provided the impetus for lively discussions, with additional suggestions from pupils as to what our parents are good for.
In conclusion, an enjoyable read.Read moreLess

"Lovely book for children.…"
My daughter really enjoyed this story and I then took it to share with my class. An amusing and entertaining read, suitable for all. Don't be put off by the title, it's more general parents than focusing on a two parent family, so all children would enjoy it equally.Read moreLess
