A lof fun to be had reading about all the yucky food the monster loves to eat. I have a 2 year old and, although he enjoys it, I think it's more suitable for 3+.
Great illustrations and bright colours with the added bonus of tactile details which my son loves.Read moreLess
"funny and gross…"
The 7 year old loved this one, he wasn't too keen on giving it to younger cousin because he wanted to keep it for himself. Its funny, bright and nicely illustrated. the embossed cover is classy and makes the book feel good in your hands.Read moreLess

"Fun and entertaining!…"
My 3 year old found the story very entertaining! It is suitably gruesome for her age, her review of the monsters diet was "yucky!" and she really got involved with giving her own reaction of what he chose to eat. The illustrations are detailed and allowed for a lot of discussion on shapes and colours etc. Overall, an excellent read which is requested at bedtime frequently.Read moreLess
"Great for Boys…"
My nephew loved this book as Max the monster ate lots of horrible things. It was full of great pictures and it has become his favourite book. I didn't think it was as easy to read out loud as The Alien's love Underpants books but my nephew didn't seem to mind. We spent ages looking at the pictures too.Read moreLess
"Creepy crawly fun…"
I am saving as a Christmas present, but read the book myself -Love a book that rhymes, some of the references are a bit advanced so prob more for 3+, don't think my 21/2 will understand. However, the pictures are great, bright with lots of little bug details that she will like looking at on her own. Is a nice book, can't see it being one of our favourites, but we'll see!Read moreLess
"Great illustrations and suitably disgusting subject matter to appeal to boys in particular!…"
Both my two year old girl and six year old boy enjoyed this book. The subject matter and illustrations of cockroach curries, and slug smoothies and the like really captured their imagination, and they accompanied the storytelling with many 'yucks' and 'disgusting' comments and funny faces pulled to show their horror! The illustrations are well done and help to bring the book to life, but I did find it quite hard to read out loud - the words didn't roll off the tongue and flow as well as they could have.Read moreLess
"Great illustrations: yucky and fun!…"
I received a free copy to review. My daughter (2.5) really enjoyed the pictures and the story. The book was imaginative and fun. It was suitably gross in its descriptions of all the yucky things to be eaten. I think the font could have been bigger/different and perhaps a different colour so white text on black background. But overall, we really enjoyed it. Great illustrations and a fun theme.Read moreLess
"Funny and gross with lots of visual detail…"
My 4 year old boy loves this book. It's funny and suitably gross for him. There is lots of detail on each page and some funny puns. DS, however, feels a bit sorry for the spiders in the sandwich, so that bit he is not very fond of. Also, the ending with the sprouts is a bit less than ideal from adult point of view, but I realise I'm splitting hairs. The most important thing is that DS enjoys this book.Read moreLess

Fun catchy words that I can see my nieces giggling to and me Aunty having to eat a concoction of spider sandwiches all Christmas afternoon ??Read moreLess
