Armadillo Ray, by John Beifuss

This is the story of Armadillo Ray who goes on a quest to find out 'what is the moon' and meets lots of other creatures who live in the desert. Beautiful illustrations and really lovely storytelling have really captured the imagination of my children, aged 2 - 7. The folklore style stories related by each desert creature Ray meets on his adventure are interesting for adults too and make this an enjoyable book to read and re-read again and again. Cute ending too. My new bedtime favourite and my daughters too.
